She's a little bit older. But has one of those "I like banging" looks about her.

If she was younger she'd be gold.

Rochelle, its very easy :)

Way to open season 6. Kurt sutter is one crazy mofo. Otto is going to suffer hard.

No idea what clays playing at but wouls like to see a bit more of layla. Chibbs and juice possibly worked out their difference and whilst violent it was also quiet emotional.

Ending was hardcore! Throw away line in the first few minutes makes sense now

Ahoy;---
http://au.news.yahoo.com/entertainment/a/-/article/18964655/top-book-prize-for-skilful-plotting/

Sri Lankan-born Sydney author Michelle de Kretser has won the $15,000 fiction and $25,000 Premier's Prize for Questions of Travel at the WA Premier's Book Awards. "I am overjoyed that so many people have responded so positively to my book," De Kretser, who is in France and could not be at last night's awards ceremony, said.
Head judge Rose Lucas said the novel, which won the Miles Franklin award this year, gripped the panel. "Its skilful plotting, eloquent prose and urgent contemporary issues of migration, travel and asylum made it a clear and important winner," she said. Now in its 30th year, the awards attracted 507 entries. Culture and the Arts Minister John Day acknowledged the important contributions to cultural life of the 10 category winners. "Australian authors should feel proud of producing an enduring legacy that can be revisited," he said.
Only two WA authors won. Kurlumarniny: We Come From The Desert, by a now deceased Aboriginal author, was awarded $10,000 in the WA History category.
Ingle Knight took out the $10,000 Scripts award for The Fremantle Candidate.
The West Australian's _$5000 People's Choice Award went to Deborah Forster for The Meaning Of Grace

here we go........I do have an extensive experience in hospitality in several countries and maybe I am fuzzy.........BUT I HATE bad service with a passion.
I am posting this because it happened to me
twice in one day. First time a so called 'hip' bar in the middle of North-bridge.My friend and I were standing at the bar (only us there) waiting for somebody to take our drink order. Mmmmmmmm 2 people who rather polished glasses looking at us for 5 mins, doing nothing until my friend approached them and asked if we could order.......same day: dinner in Freo....three of us.......again quiet night only 2 other tables occupied........shown to a table with no menu......no water and left sitting there for 15 mins while bored staff did clean 'clean' tables.

NOW.......what is more like you.......to walk out quietly and spend your money somewhere else where it is appreciated or kick up a stink and tell them what you think of the service and stay because the food is actually nice.

A few years ago i would have muttered something offensive, just loud enough for them to hear but these days i just walk out and go elsewhere. I'd choose friendly, helpfull service over quality of food

I've learnt lifes to short to whinge!

if you feel the need to complain about any business then that business does not deserve your business :)

Yep, up sticks and move on. There are plenty of places to eat in Perth and no need to put up with bad service. Personally I find "hipster" bars and restaurants with their poncy "too cool for you" vibe a big turnoff.

Before you leave, you just start to call out dishes you like to order then walk out. E.g. 2x Lobster platter, 2x snow crabs, 1x dozen oysters. And $50 to the 1st person who can take down this order in 5 seconds. :p

I agree. Just leaving gracefully without causing a scene of any sort would be my choice of action too.

Lol... I have even got up mid session with a WL and left when the service was underparr. While still paying and without complaining of course.

Welcome to Perth and Australia! Bad service is a religion here and that's largely 'cos Perth's full of peasants who don't know what service is and expect less than mediocrity as the norm. And the training of staff here is likewise. It's now a village run by village idiots.

Look at the number of people who assign themselves (it's certainly not acquired) snob status because they've flown to Bali.

And people who offer good service often leave 'cos no one recognizes them for their effort or insults them with badges/scratch and match tickets.

i love the way people balme poor service on it being perth

did you not notice 99.9% of these people giving crap serice are backpackers from other countries? that make up our service industry???

all they are doing is bringing thier countrys crap service to us .

ive just come back from a holiday in the US and I would prefer our food and crap service to thier good service and crap food especilly considering the sevice thier comes on the back of crimanally low wages and relies on you throwing them a bone to survive.

after a month in the US i was reeeeely hanging for a decent feed

99.9% Where did you get that figure from? If anything I've noticed that the overseas workers in most companies are the ones who are most polite and well-mannered.

So in Australia where we have decent basic wages as a start, why is so service so bad from Aussies then - using your theory. Been to Bunnings? Service is crap - no backpackers. Qantas - ditto.

You pay peanuts you get monkeys.

Yes the Bunnings brigade must be straight from the dole queues.

LoL...I can vouch for the superbly low standard service from Qantas, frigging flying kangaroo with an attitude and crap service. Staff needs retraining and learn from their peers.

Basic Wages here is an eye opener to the Americans for sure. Yeah some places just have shocking people working, backpackers or not. Food wise, there are not alot of places that would give you the Wow factor. A lot of them are just in it to squeeze $ from consumers.

I agree too move on to a place that cares about your money. However I think the business owner should be bought up to speed.
I know how hard it is to run a business and relying on staff. The business owner may have no idea what is going on. You don't have to be rude but as a business owner I would like to know about your experience.

People forget these days that customer service is just a department not an activity as many business's try to claim.

My beliefs and actions have me appreciating any kind of service I receive. Even if they are rude or developing their skills.

In my experience when a service provider is rude or arrogant, I am not the cause. They are having a bad day bad month or bad decade. So I choose not to take it personally.

99% of the time if a service starts bad and the tempo of the interaction is broken by appreciation and kindness, it ends with great service.

Fully agree.

Back years ago (I mean at least going by more than a decade, before the '02 bombing) as I remembered - a younger Indonesian myself back then - Bali was where both locals AND foreigners actually DO enjoy and both share exact equal number of respect/s.

But now, it's nothing more than an infested, abused destination for the overly spoiled, cashed-up-beer-bellied bogans, corporate fat-cats and the like.

I can never forget in recalling the number of drunken up dickheads in the planes. And how I stood up against them once or twice. Yes, bad service; as already getting worse as it is - is sadly tolerated as good disease - but that doesn't mean they can shit all around as soon as they leave Perth.

I wouldn't imagine Bali being any more different to Thailand. The last solo-holiday I set my foot on was the Phillipines and even that was atrocious with expats and local 16yr olds.

PS. Speaking of which - there should be a dressing code for Langtrees, City West & Caseys. A high end gentlemen's club should not tolerate bir-bintang singlets and flops.

Is the bad service a one-time thing, or is it a pattern? If someone's had a bad day and doesn't deliver his or her normal service, then just smile and try to make their day more pleasant. If it's a pattern, talk to them about it while you're paying. Be specific and offer suggestions - don't just say the service was poor, but instead tell them how much better you'd have enjoyed the place if they had done x, y, and z.

You say you like the food - so it's worth helping them out.
