Avatars are being added to all profiles. If you don't like the picture you can change it via your profile. Its about being aesthetically pleasing

This is crap. I think avatars are good but if someone doesn't want one that's their decision. I belong to a number of different forums and I've never seen this happen.

I'm doing as instructed. It looks much better for the Forum and doesn't affect your profile except make it stand out when you post.
I have spent hours looking through pictures and loading appropriate Avatars.

I'm sure you are working hard and doing an excellent job and I'm sorry if I was a bit rude in my last post. I also know this was an instruction and it has been discussed on another thread. However, I don't feel people should have an avatar forced on them if they don't want one. Apologies for being rude again.

Cam I have deselected your post and made the above thread can you please explain what is difficult, don't you remember what it was like to use the yellow pages we went to the index (home page) first. I would appreciate you telling us of the difficulties, because of resorting we had to put the forum order in oldest post first, this you can change on your own profile under preferences, so you can view newest post first which is the preferred order for long term members, including myself.This reorder is around 2000 hours for over 10 moderators and we are only 20% of the way into it. Darwin & Canberra were the first attacked states, and both are looking very good with only a bit of thread deselecting to be carried out. Thread deselecting is where the topic goes of subject and becomes a second subject, by selecting the offending posts we can then create a new thread with the right title without losing the content.
We have finally got rid of the spammers and after this weekend we are going to ease up on the moderation and only newbie's up to 20 posts will be moderated. Restting these permissions in itself is about 6 hours work.

Yeh, a little while ago, I lost all of my cred. Master Yoda tried to change my name from Spikey to Lord Spikey.
He succeeded, but trashed my history in the process.
I was well up there with the greats as far as posts and likes, etc were concerned.
I will get there again. I believe in this forum

I have deselected these threads as not about the topic and made their own thread, I will see if Spikey survived and then we may be able to join them, otherwise I can increase post count and thingys manually I believe if you know the numbers.

I mentioned in another thread losing about a quarter of my content and associated ratings.
I had just received the trophy points for getting 1000 posts up then many posts disappeared. I was just going to find out if my trophy points for getting to 1000 would be awarded a second time. LOL
Losing a big chunk of posts when one has posted so many is no big deal however I feel for those newer members that have lost the majority of their posts.

Thanks, Mary-Anne. My posts were quite high, as I have been a member for quite some time. As you may know, I am sometimes quite prolific. Although I was not at the level of the truly great posters, such as Yoda, or HP or Johnlou, etc. I did appear on page one; about half way up, I think.
Seriously, I am not that worried about it. My comment to Rudy Boy was in regards to his noticing that I am a Forum Manager with so few posts... How, he is wondering? It was a fair question and I just needed to explain to him.
