It's nothing you havent seen before over east. So you got nothing to worry, it's a norm for you. You know us Perthians, we whinge about everything. Traveling 30km to work is considered too far. We can't tolerate slow drivers and we sure can't merge. Proud to be a Perthian.

I had my first encounter with a fast moving truck and trailer changing lanes in front of me yesterday. I think he forgot he had a trailer and he nearly took me out. Followed him for a while with caution then watched him turn right into a road where no turning was permitted. Now that was a walking death trap

I had a similar experience, I was driving along Morley drv next to a truck with a trailer. Truck was on the left lane, I was on the right. The truckie decided to just chuck his right signal on and change lane. I thought you must be kidding. I was right next to him, I thought he must have seen me. But when the truck starts to enter my lane, I honk like a crazy donkey would, HeeHaw, watch your side buddy.

Thanks homer, good perspective! Yes I have experienced the merging issues on the freeway. Some parts of the East are like that too!

Mr Abbott and Indonesia.........I wonder how this will turn out as our just recently elected PM has diplomatic tact to start with and the Indonesian president is seriously pissed off.
I really don't want to be cynical but let's remember that one of Abbott's pet pre-election topics was the boats and how to stop them..........he needs the Indonesian cooperation to do so and doesn't look good at the moment.

Sigh. The next 20 years isnt looking too good for us with the Villag Idiot in charge.

You can't be serious Al, do you blame Abbott for what happened at the Bali Conference or because he won't apologise to Bang Bang Yoko Ono? How exactly would that apology go?

Do you believe that Indonesia doesn't spy on us. I have to go against the rest of the population here. I'm proud that lil ol Aus had the nouse, and testicular fortitude, to bug a world leaders phone and only get caught because yanks can't keep a secret.

There are only 2 reasons the Indonesians are so pissed, firstly we can and they can't and secondly, they had no friggen idea until they read about it in the newspapers.

Go Aussies, and apologise when they can look into a camera and say that Indonesia hasn't, doesn't and won't spy on us

O.K, Tony has come to his first major bump in the road. I, and I am sure, everyone else with half a brain will be watching closely to see how he handles it.

The Indonesians are a prickly lot, a bit like the kid who was bullied at school and now wants to show everyone that he is grown up. They will settle down but because there is an election looming over there SBY and every other candidate will want to thump their chests and big-note themselves to the public.

Al, Please read Paul Murray's article in the West today - it isn't on their website yet. It seems the whole blow-up was started by a documentary which "our" ABC picked up from a left-wing British rag called "The Guardian" and ran, despite it being clearly against our national interests to do so.

Anyone would think our National broadcaster would be a little more discreet. It once again demonstrates what a bunch of pinko lunatics run the ABC. Who cares if it damages our diplomatic relations with Indonesia and impedes the fight against people smuggling so long as it drops a heap of s##t in Tony's lap?

I do wish the media was more responsible about reporting these things.
It will be interesting to see how Abbott goes in the future. It IS his first test after all.

http://au.news.yahoo.com/a/19936537/aust-embassy-in-jakarta-braces-for-protest/

Police in Indonesia say demonstrations are likely to occur in front of the Australian Embassy in Jakarta on Thursday, amid ongoing fallout over the phone-tapping controversy. It's understood the Australian government will take precautions to ensure the safety of staff at the embassy and a large police presence is also expected. The Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) has also updated its travel advice in response to the protest plan. "Local police advise that a demonstration is planned for outside the Australian Embassy on 21 November, 2013," DFAT said. "Australians should monitor local media, avoid protests, maintain high levels of vigilance and security awareness." The protest was organised by a group called the People's Coalition for Defence and Security (KMPH).
The development comes after Indonesia on Wednesday announced it was halting all co-operation with Australia on efforts to combat people smuggling after the phone-tapping controversy, in a major blow to Prime Minister Tony Abbott's plan to stop the boats. It's believed the embassy has advised staff to avoid the protests. Should protests occur, staff will be not be allowed to enter or exit the building, which is on one of Jakarta's main streets.
Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono says he will send a letter to Mr Abbott's government demanding an official apology and a full explanation as to why Australian spies targeted his mobile phone in 2009, as well as his wife's and some of his closest confidants.
