Offence is taken not given
I agree 100% - except for the case of context, eg. role playing games. There are cases where insults are part of play.Whores traditionally whored their bodies out for money. But today a whore can be a person that compromises himself in any kind of way for monetary gain. It's also a nasty thing to call someone (especially a woman) who has a lot of sex and is often used as a vulgar insult similar to bitch. It's not really an appropriate word to call someone, including actual prostitutes.
Nope I refer to my self as a hooker people say don't call yrself thatThere are many names, which can be used to describe a woman who offers her services for sex. Some more pleasant than others.
I find Working Lady to be the most respectful. Do the WL's here, get offended if they are referred to as whores or prostitutes?

Honey to me iv been more insulted by men who use terms like working ladies ladies of the night buy there actions words r only words I rather b called a who're then treated like a cum bucket the say whole like of nice things to just up load a load it the story of my life ....treat a ladies any ladies with respect or any person is in yr action using nice vocabulary means nothing if yr action is the total opisiteI totally get where this comes from, Casey.
You have chosen this profession and are not ashamed of it, nor should you be. It is the same as me referring to myself as a "Pom" or a black man referring to himself as a "Nigger"; a way of thumbing your nose at an insult.
Personally, in my punting days I always treated my ladies respectfully and always referred to them simply by name or as "ladies.
People who try to put others down over their chosen profession should remember the words of a Napoleonic spy who was being honoured for his services (which was unusual as spies were generally looked down on by military people). When a snooty army officer made a derogatory comment he replied "Monsieur, he who eats meat has no cause to scorn the butcher".

I agree, always address them with their name, and appreciate the service they are providing, even if sometimes not always up to standard, treating people with respect goes a long way and is often rewarded on repeat visits.I feel it's disrespectful and would never use the term no matter work nor would I use the term 'hooker'. Working Lady or Sex Worker would be the term if I had to use a term, but I prefer to call them by their name, much nicer...
