It is caused by a lot of things but really once menopause hits things change a lot... There is no desire for sex or even mutual affection from my experience and you can only be rejected so many times before it affects you... and try as you might.. I have a lot and even had professional help.. it comes down to the fact that you need to ride it out and if it means a WL every now and again so be it.. a man is not a camel and would walk funny of they tried to be...
Also a word of warning... they push the hormone drugs which delay the inevitable so deal with the pain now for 5 to 10 years or prolong it for 20.. the choice is simple from my side

Thanks for the input. But it might effect each woman differently. Can't say all women once hit menopause is guaranteed this.

Wonder why so hard to come up with equivalent to viagra for women.
 
I always bring gifts when I visit anyone so this situation is no different to me. Actually find them more appreciated than giving gifts to friends. Had a call from a retired WL this year on my birthday (or what she thought was my birthday 🤣) and another I had not seen in a while sent me a gift.

Usually nothing special. Bottle of wine and flowers. If I enjoy her company then something from an interest of hers and some other stuff I'll keep to myself. Doesn't hurt.

But the point is Viagra does not create arousal and she would need to be aroused for any effect. It's the same with men, Viagra will not create a stiffy without arousal.

I agree with you asianguy77. There are many men (some who have already commented above) that are kind, invested and in love with their partners that do the wine, dine and engage on a regular basis.......to no avail on the intimacy front. From my experience menopause took my gorgeous, vivacious and wanting partners and turned them into best friends. 5 days a week sex turned into birthdays and Xmas and then not at all. I do understand the magnitude of hormonal change menopause wields, and it's incredibly difficult to watch your partner go through those changes and the discomfort of the symptoms. It is possible that the changes women go through also provide a reason to disengage sexually because they just don't want sex with us (their partner) any more. They care about us but are no longer excited by us. I know I have felt that way about partners in the past so it's only fair women can feel the same. The difference is men want sex always, women after a certain age can live without it if they are in a caring relationship with a 'best friend'
 
What venues do most of you guys use if not doing an incall?

Yes… I don’t know how to address the root cause, and maybe we both tried years ago and didn’t succeed. She doesn’t feel guilty now because I’m not asking for sex, and I’m not grumpy with her for not getting sex.
