Have heard of some activity in Beaufort Street. Concern raised about number of shops that have popped up. There is a group that organises family events to promote the strip, that have raised the issue with the local MPs.

Have been told that checking on visas will be used as a tactic. It used to be pretty low key. Only a few shops spread out. But for one street, it's becoming pretty full on.

I may be wrong, but I sense there is a bit of a turf war going on, with owners who have several shops competing for business. The shop signs are becoming more obvious. The parking of nearby business are being utilised. The Perth Locanto ads are becoming more brazen, etc.

Ok... lets look at this from a different view point, Crown Casino/Optus Stadium/North Bridge has violence due to Alcohol, how much trouble like that is involved with the same outcome? I wonder when the last time a mini riot occurred due to Alcohol happened out front of Langtrees? Not me you need to convince. Just reporting what I have heard and observed. I think there are also some foreign ownership questions being raised politically, potential for money laundering, under reporting of income, visa violations. All sorts of things that crop up, that wouldn't be an issue with Langtrees, for example.

There are a lot of Christian Schools on that particular strip, so maybe driven in some part by parents?

It was on the front page of the Fremantle Herald. This new location for Ivy's is atrocious. Right out in the open, lots of traffic around, a damn McDonald's next door. You would have to have no shame to visit this place where everybody could see you. I much preferred when Ivy's was on Stock Road.
