Would I get anything if I showed a companion card or any other proof that I'm disabled to any of the amps?

I applaud you for asking the question @VladTheImpaler because it is not a silly question. Ignore the disparaging comments.

In some instances assistance is available to access services for people with certain disabilities. If you have a Disability Support Coordinator you are in touch with discuss this with them.

In the meantime have a look through this part of the forum pinned below where from memory it was discussed.

Trust this is a useful answer to your genuine question.

Are you aware of how the Companion Card works? It's so a carer can get free entry to help a disabled person to access a service they would otherwise be unable to access. The benefit is to the carer, but only indirectly to the disabled person.

That being said, I'm not aware of any AMPs which recognise the Companion Card.

Are you on the NDIS? I've read of
people receiving funding for such services as part of their care plan.

Sorry to be giving a PC answer, but I thought the information may be helpful.

And that is how a great forum works, sharing information to help each other along in understand and accessing what we are seeking.

Great answer @C7Vol, the industry has changed over the years.

I don't believe our services have been approved for NDIS funding. I do know it has been discussed. Possibly ways to get around it. I'm an approved provider for a mainstream service. ABN, address and email address etc is required for invoicing. Protecting the disabled must always come first

I thought it was a brilliant mention by MAK about a gentleman with a newly acquired disability having access to a service in Langtrees.

Briefly I was in the Disability Support Industry years ago and heard how coordinators were resourceful in trying to meet the needs of clients to access erotic-services with funding.

I was an assistant coordinator in disabilities years ago. Clients would have a care plan funded for them through Disability Services I think it was called back then.

That funding is broken down into packages to meet the clients needs. Such as Domestic Assistance, Community Integration, Recreation, Advocacy, Meals On Wheels, Transport, Personal Assistance, etc.

If something was needed that was not easily compartmentalised into one of the plans, advice and permission was coordinated with a funding body to try to meet a perceived need, through funds already funded then recorded in a package of a Care Plan.

A google search will find many articles on the topic. Generally the articles are reporting on arguments suggesting that such services should not be funded. By implication, the services are already being funded, with some people saying they should not be.

Sort of on topic but I have visited a WL who told me she provides services of this nature at aged care facilities. Not sure if it is with the knowledge of the owners or otherwise.

Not off topic at all, Aged Care sometimes crosses fields with Disability Support.

Residence in an Aged Care Facility have needs, that if appropriate in their private unit or room, is at the discretion of staff/family that they have them met. With consideration of welfare. Though people grow older some are still quite happily active sexually.

In later years Home Care is being encouraged as a means of cost shifting. People are able to remain independent in their own homes while receiving the assistance they need. Less need for building care facilities or retirement villages.

In home care a carer may be nearby if needed or assist the client to communicate/advocate for an in-home service. After all it’s their own home, their choice if the dynamics are sound.

Hardly the case and I knew it was only time before someone would draw that card. It’s a cheap card to play and a misinformed one.

Nothing cheap about taxes champ. I could buy a fucking new car every year or pay 3 kids private school with what these motherfuckers take from me.
Again simple thinking. Most have payed their taxes through life too before retirement or have self funded managed income others might have trust funds from inheritance. Funding comes from far more than just taxes. Be informed in your criticisms of others.

Yeah but what's the point of a new car without taxes to fund roads and other infrastructure.
I am not saying no taxes at all. Pretty happy if it were 30k per year. Not the outrageous amounts this fucking gov takes away to have such shitty roads here in Radelaide
