Thing is our government is slow on the uptake on how to handle this problem, the moment China had a massive outbreak they should have put in contingency plans right there and then. Then the moment we started to have ppl in Oz with the virus, we could have stopped it from spreading. But Noooo~.... Lets wait till our citizens start panicking & have it the main topic of every TV news reports, then start to do bandaids. Then when all hell breaks loose we'll bring in the military. We could have prevented this, but as always and in movies the government takes too long to act.

This has happened before the great recession ages ago but as always the world will bounce back, that is if the world can survive the next china virus it cooks up in the future. As the last one was SARS. Just ask your grandpa or great grandparents on how they survived it.

Two people have today tested positive to Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the Territory.

They have both followed the recommended health protocols to minimise the risk to others until they could get medical treatment.

As announced by the Minister for Health this morning, a man in his 30s tested positive for the virus after he travelled to Darwin from Zagreb via Istanbul and Denpasar, arriving on Flight JQ82 at 5:00am on 19 March 2020.

He immediately went into self-isolation and was later tested at the Royal Darwin Hospital Pandemic Clinic. He is now in isolation in Royal Darwin Hospital.

Separately, a 21-year old woman has tested positive after returning to Darwin from Utah.
She travelled from Utah to San Francisco and on to Brisbane, before arriving into Darwin on Flight QF824 at midday on 19 March 2020.

She went into self-isolation immediately and was later tested at the Royal Darwin Hospital Pandemic Clinic after developing a sore throat and a cough. She is now in isolation in Royal Darwin Hospital.

People on those flights are being contacted as part of the contact tracing procedures.

This brings the number of confirmed cases of coronavirus COVID-19 in the NT to three in total.

The positive "so far" is the 2 confirmed today weren't community contracted in Australia and have isolated on arrival as per instruction. The first one was a guy from NSW. I really hope we close our NT borders soon. In saying that we need to allow transportation of food and necessities and our FIFO's need to be able to work. Mine sites now have strict guidelines for social distancing out of work and are testing all arrivals.

Maybe close up for a while & give your ladies a holiday, could be worth thinking about, I have no answers for the Virus, I hope they find a vaccine for it, but they have never found a cure for the common cold or flu as yet. Even if a vaccine was discovered how long would it take to vaccinate the entire planet, that's if they could produce enough vaccine, we can only hope I guess. Doesn't look like I will be going to Las Vegas in June, like many other people I've already paid for the flights & hotel, so fingers crossed for next year.

A cashless society has been the goal for a long time.
Card or electronic transfer = a trail that cannot be hidden or disguised. Money laundering tax avoidance profiting from illegal activities etc will be easily traceable. Cash is King for a very good reason 😉

but my dealer insists on cash ;)
strange isn't it though, what's wrong with accepting a load of cash or notes that has been on the body of a possibly infected person.

I have seen plenty of claims on Youtube where a person claims, their religion, gender, ethnicity, age and nationality protects them from the virus.
There are miracle claims that becoming a hardcore Vegan or eating cow dung or drinking cow urine provides protection from the virus.
