Yes, one is a persistent annoyance trying to change society to her preferences by harassing people who are trying to get on with their lives and as far as I know have the person who set the fire is yet to be caught.

No one was silent about the fire and most thought it was idiotic. I think the number of people who thought it was good was probably about the same ratio as people who think vegan activists are great.
Newspapers need to generate outrage, so they focus on the most egregious responses to do that because people are easily manipulated.
