Merged Threads Not worth Reading

It's next Monday, not this one just gone. Im celebrating the beginning of three weeks long service leave by eating there and I'll report to you all as soon as I get home.

Should be an okay place

I live out at Aldinga and generally work afternoon shift, so going places for tea isn't always possible at short notice.

Oops I thought it was this Monday. My bad. Thank you so much for doing this xo

Ok. Harry's Bar in Grenfell Street is in one of the many old converted buildings along that strip. I had a battered fish in the street level bar and struggled to get through it as they don't skimp on portions. It was a $10 Monday special and my acompanying scotch and coke was $8.

The front bar menu is not extensive. The fare; fish, steak and parmy. However, upstairs is the Tattersalls Lounge where there is plenty of seating and (I heard) a more extensive menu. I may check that out before xmas too. Several flights of stairs to get to it, but there is a lift if you're not feeling fit.

It's not like your suburban workingman's pub, but probably gets busy after work on Fridays like any other bar, city or suburbs.

Whether there's four of us or twelve, it seems like a reasonable place to meet providing everybody is okay with there being practically no on-street parking in the CBD these days.

My backup plan would be the casino as there are bars and eateries throughout there.

Sounds Awesome!. I'm kind of avoiding the Casino option as my Uncle Works there and has done for 20 years. But if it ends up being the location that we go with, I will hope we get some sort of discount 😜🤣

It has changed a LOT...........a tourist area is Glenelg beach,
Always has been absolutely beautiful place Glenelg it's at the end of the tram stop and the last tram gets to gelenelg at 12 midnight so if you go to rundall mall or Hindley st you have to make sure you catch the last tram before mid night.

On a day like today, you won't be able to move at Glenelg.
And forget about easy parking.
I remember it always being busy at Glenelg. Though I'm sure we always went on a weekend.
I also remember going to Semaphore Beach one time in my younger years. We waded out quite a long distance and as the tide came in so did a huge influx of jelly fish and we had to climb the jetty to get back as we were cut off from shore by them. Still creeps me out all these years later.

OK Guys, Glenelg has changed a lot, check it out...............click below...
Link is broken, so take down.

Only 22 days away now. I'm leaving venue up to you members who live in Adelaide as I have no idea what's what over there these days. But I would personally prefer somewhere where we can not have to yell to hear each other and that's nice and ambient.

I'm not in Adelaide for the meet, but Hains & Co could be a good option if they're open. Great bar, awesome service.....
