Since the Abrahimzadeh murder of his wife, Zahra at the Adelaide Convention Centre in March 2010 the police have been
cracking down on domestic violence to the point they will often hear a request for an intervention order "in absentia" (with out the guy been present) and they guy doesn't know anything about it until SAPOL officers turn up to take him away.
In France they have a divide of female opinion.
One one hand many of the leading french women circulated a petition to stop #metoo from socially destroying boys ego's because they want their boys to become men who are passionate caring lovers and appreciate flirting and touching are part of the process.
One the other hand last week several thousand protesters marched through Paris to demand a national wake-up call and more government investment to prevent deadly domestic violence against women.
I believe the two are related if you dont provide a safe environment for boys to fraternize with girls and learn how to be gentle ie a gentleman at the same time girls learn how to fraternize with the GFE and everyone has a fun time.

Unfortunately one rarely sees young men and women close dancing now days and the GFE tends less charm and more sexual tension.

Sex workers don't want to be licence we want sex work to be reconsidered as real work and the stigma removed. It is illogical to think that a TAFE course can teach women how to provide a GFE. By decriminalisation it this would enable a safer workplace where attacks or robberies could be reported without fear of incriminating oneself.

Being a sex worker and the increasing issue of DV and family violence in are community are 2 very separate issues

Look at the NZ it works there, so why can't that work in all states of Australia... we know all why... well said great post, licensed is the Victorian model which to me is backwards. SA wants you all to jump in cars and leave and take it elsewhere, maybe some sex worker needs to do a honey trap and trap a high ranking elected official. (politicians love using the services of sex workers irony at its finest) Why is that in other places laws like this pass without issue, but in Australia they take forever, no wonder why Jacinda Arden is laughing at Australia..

Ladies you have tried 13 times to get sex work decriminalised and it hasn't worked.
It is time to look at a different tack.
If you want to come out of the shadows and be a legitimately recognised workers / business
You will have to start paying taxes, getting accreditation, personal development time like all the other workers.
If you want to work with vulnerables you will need a DHS Clearance.
It is more than standing on the steps of parliament demanding equal rights you have to step up and show
you are prepared to have equal responsibility with regular workers.

You must be a male in your mid 40's and possibly a liberal voter..... ;) Its a woman's body she should be able to do what the heck she wants with it ,as a birth right, NOT be allowed to it by some elected scum bag.. WHY is is that women need to fight for everything BUT men get is straight off the bat.. :

1.Abortion rights
2. Equal pay
3 Equal rights
4 The Vote
5 To Drive
6 To sit in Parliaments
7 To wear short skirts
8. To be allowed to sell sex or rent their bodies to the creature than needs it the most Men
9. To feel safe at home
10 . To feel safe at night

Why do women need to fight for this? Men come from women, and loads of women are not having kids so lets see how the male creature solves that issue..

Still too simplistic and blinkered.
This continued view of just looking at men vs women is only a very narrow part of the whole vista.
You're more than this Phoebe, set yourself free.

Actually I voted for Tammy Franks MLC.
And the issue here is passing the decrim bill. I dont think it was necessary to refer to democratically elected
people as scum bags.
This is meant to be an open forum and personal attacks are in appropriate

Phoebe, the men vs women generalization is insane, simplistic and obtuse - and applying it to this topic to hijack the thread and other threads must be tiresome for you. This is like a bot response.
I understand that there are advantages to holding onto this view point because it means you don't need to change.
See how it feels and how others interact with that unchanging point of view. Self reflect.
I've been there done that in my life and not changing doesn't work - that's why I'm calling it out.

Incorrect thinking and again off topic.
Why wait to examine your life by making it conditional on one person (me) having to explain to you about your own limited view point which is in your own mind and bolstered by your conformation bias?
Insane.
Can't you make free choice?

People have had to put in efforts to get things.

You are so good, you nearly had me, but I read your post really slow and now I get what you are saying, you make perfect sense, its all the escorts fault for wanting to be escorts right, not the law makers, whom the likes @Miss Monique pays her taxes for her, and whom she may of voted for at the last SA State election, I see its her and other escorts fault for wanting to be an escorts... thanks for that.. Maybe they should all go on the dole instead. but thanks for letting me see that.

No, Phoebe, the solution is beyond allocating fault.
As soon as fault is allocated people give away their power.
It's about finding another way of getting the desired outcome of recognizing the sex industry as any other industry.
People meeting the needs of other people legally and without shame or guilt on anyone.
Note that I refer to people, not men, not women - people.

His suggestions are laughable
Hijacking threads is what some of us do best. There was more of this going on in the past but sadly one member is now up in the heavens
How do you think some become legend members

The bill didn't get passed because it was as ludicrous as TAFE course for GFE

Was that for the clients, as if they had a GF they wouldn't need to see an escort... for the experience, as the escorts (women) know how to give a GFE as they are girls already!

From what I read, justanordinaryguy was suggesting trying a different tack, and then listed some possible examples.
The examples may have variable success, yet the principle of trying something different is to be commended.
We don't know until we try.

Another principle that people often miss is that along with rights come responsibilities, they go hand in hand.
People can fight for rights without expounding on responsibilities that they will undertake, yet the success of that fight is greatly diminished.
justanordinaryguy was putting forward some suggestions for bringing in responsibility that is demonstrable and repeatable to elected lawmakers.
Again, those specific examples may have variable success, yet the principle of responsibility going hand in hand with getting legislation for the rights of sex workers and their clients is to be commended.

Please look at the principles involved and then work from that back into the details and issues at hand.
To get caught up in details without a principled approach is futile, as the current results prove.
For example, the idea of a TAFE course for GFE is your idea that you then dismiss as ludicrous; justanordinaryguy didn't suggest it, he said to get accreditation.
Maybe that accreditation could be a form of licencing for sex workers, health check courses run by registered training organizations with regular refresher sessions (how first aid courses are implemented), etc, etc.
I don't know, I'm just throwing offhand ideas around as I type.
MAK would know, she is the Queen of getting through this and getting results and getting people onboard in multiple States and Territories in Australia; and I'm sure she has already done some phenomenal and unrecognized work in SA.
Breakdown the issues and sticking points and come from it from a position of responsibility rather than this senseless and unproductive blaming and giving away your individual and collective power.
OK, SA lawmakers may be ignorant or religious or whatever because SA is not from convict stock and are the city of churches, etc... break the issues down and present responsible solutions... get the electorate onboard.
Bring in lawmakers from countries where it is working to discuss it and to have input to draft proposed legislation.
What is currently happening is not working for you, try something different.

PS: legend membership based on quantitative output rather than quality is not comparable. Nor is consensus thinking based on likes, etc.

These statements are going off topic with incorrect and basic reasoning.
Phoebe, do you use services provided by sex workers? Do you have a GF or partner? Do women know how to give GFE?
How about the people on here that see sex workers in addition to having a female partner that may not be fulfilling their GFE needs?
These are a few basic rhetorical questions that can be self-asked before making erroneous statements which have the tone of attacking male clients on a sex forum.

I give up... It must be so lonely sitting up where you do, I bet when Google needs an update they just plug into your head... really I have had some out there bosses asking and mentioning some weird crap, but hey I think you take the cake, nothing no one says on here is remotely right or even on topic, hey even a lady in game doesn't know what she is talking about, a lady with years of experience in the game and years of seeing her State of SA do this time and time again to her industry.... Who do you mean by "a lady"? Are you referring to yourself, Miss Monique, MAK?
I'm discussing legislation and principled thinking to get a successful outcome for sex workers and clients in SA - which is the topic.

I reread through the posts and found the reference and agree that it was mentioned by justanordinaryguy.
My apologies for my inaccuracy.

Yes, I hear you in being a long term local sex worker in SA, and I think it's great that everyone is doing their best to get the industry legislation through, and also understand the frustrations with this not happening.
I'm in WA and am quite ignorant of the sex industry, that is one of the reasons why I'm on here is to hear of other people's experiences and how they have faced them.

The point I've been attempting to communicate is working through an issue from a higher, common, honest perspective rather than getting bogged down in men vs women commentary, which is non-productive.

I personally haven't read through the SA legislation or the evidence provided to the SA parliament by the sex industry and it's alliances.
I wish everyone luck and perseverence in getting it through, not only in SA but also for all of Oz in removing all stigma associated with the industry, its workers and clients.

Likewise, have a good day.
