I’ve always checked in.

I’m taking a break from visiting any AMPs, two reasons; hard to explain to the better half and the family why I’m in lockdown for 14 days, second I was expecting to start travelling over east again for work. Though now the hard border is back I might reassess.

And don't trust what times the media are putting up - Yesterday Perth Now had posted times about various locations in Waikiki being visited on the 19th which were all mixed up. The Government website had different times (which one would assume to be the correct ones) when I checked later.

Democracy is a facade. You do know that , right ???

They get smaller and smaller each week. There was one last Saturday at Supreme Court Gardens - none of the media bothered to cover it.
They’re actually still big mate. Thousands stretched through the city last week. Fact the media doesn’t cover it is even more suspicious.
BLM were smaller here yet condoned and media coverage was huge and it was right at the beginning of the pandemic. 🤷‍♂️
Those with legal knowledge will generally tell you these mandates are setting a precedent and won’t be removed

Whether or not people believe in the mandates of being vaccinated, I'm sure a lot of those people protesting used to go overseas for a holiday before the pandemic set in. Once the borders are open, I wonder how many of these people will realise that to travel to other countries you need to be vaccinated to enter or there are strict conditions on the few countries (such as Thailand) that allow non-vaccinated travelers in. There will undoubtedly be some who will just resign to the fact that they will holiday within Australia, but other states such as QLD have stricter mandates in place - for example unvaccinated are not allowed to visit any adult service including sole operators.

I think more the point now is the media dismisses the protestors as anti vax conspiracy theorist nut cases and people just follow along
This all goes deeper than that. People are genuinely fighting for our freedoms and being ridiculed for it.
Same time Perth fireworks plan to go ahead with Marshalls checking certificates. Is this Australian? On Australia Day? Besides that how do they plan to social distance while checking peoples status?
Messy times we live in.

My point is that people can protest about anything they like and yes they can protest about freedoms being removed if they so wish. They can still do that lawfully in Australia as long as they don't resort to assaulting police officers or damaging property. But as we all know Governments govern to please the majority. Simple fact since democracy was coined as a type of government.

These are for the most part very peaceful protests by every day Australians from all ages and walks of life.
More often than not police are the protagonists. Particularly over east.
It’s now illegal In the UK to protest.
Do you agree that Australians cannot go to the riverside without certificates on Australia Day then?

Mostly peaceful yes but then you get the hand full of militant fuckwits that ruin it for the rest unfortunately those handful of militant fuckwits are growing in numbers thanks to misinformation on social media……

It's not whether I agree or not - the current rules state that Music Events (over 500) and specified 'high risk' events - proof of vaccination must be shown. COVID-19 coronavirus: What you can and can't do (www.wa.gov.au) So Skyworks falls into that category. I am personally triple vaccinated and live very close to the Swan River but I won't be going to the fireworks because in this current climate it poses the risk of being a super spreader event. In my opinion it should have actually been cancelled but obviously the City of Perth believe they can run the event successfully and they had already paid $500,000 for the fireworks.
