Sorry to put a dampener on things, but people expecting an influx of talent once the borders open up are going to be very disappointed. NSW & Victoria will be the first states to allow international students to return when given the ok by the Federal Government. NSW has already stated it will be 250 students every fortnight as they will have to quarantine. As the Feds issue international student visas I can guarantee that they will at first issue visas to those who are going to be a benefit to Australia in the future - for example - doctors/nurses/aged care/agriculture/civil engineers etc.

A lot of students working at AMP's etc were studying English at the dodgy private colleges who didn't care if you attended as long as the fees were paid. A lot of these closed down and I can't see reopening as for the foreseeable future any new international students requiring intensive English lessons will be sent to the Universities own colleges - ie - Canning College (Curtin), ECU College (Joondalup & Mt Lawley) where attendance is better policed - you must attend and complete all the necessary requirements before moving onto your university studies.

The universities themselves have stated that there will be not be the pre-COVID international students numbers until at least 2023/24.
