Can't verify, but word round the traps is that some punters may recently have got burnt with double up charging.... Seems that there have been multiple cases being observed.

Seems like some operators are recording cc details and doing a second charge later on.

Given the nature of the transaction they are perhaps counting on the punter not being too interested to raise it with their bank... just like they don't want the second phone details being publicly known!!!!!!

If the establishment concerned is using a machine that is supplied by one of the four major banks - the bank will confiscate the machine if said establishment is consistently double charging clients cards and the client is contacting the banks for refunds.
