I've given randoms a ride in the past. It's not a big deal. As long as they're clean then it's not a problem for me.
Here's a story for you.
A couple of years ago I was on my way home from work in the evening, when a woman nearby a bus stop along Canning Highway hailed me down. I stopped and she asked for a lift to the Raffles Hotel. When we got to the Raffles as she was about to get out she realised that she didn't have her purse with her. She was concerned that she had left it at the bus stop. So, we drove back to where I had picked her up. We got out and started looking for the purse. It wasn't there so I walked along the footpath. About 200 metres down the road I found it. I gave it to her and then drove back to the Raffles.
Another story.
It was late Thursday night and I was driving down Risely Road (Garden City shops) after doing some shopping when an older woman with a couple bags of shopping was running after a bus. The bus didn't stop, but I decided to. She was heading home to Rockingham and wanted a ride to Canning Bridge station. So I gave her a lift. I dropped her off close to the station. As I was driving home, I looked in the back seat and noticed she had left her purse there. f**k. So I pulled over as close to Canning Bridge station as I could (about 400 metres away) and started running towards the train station. I was puffed out when I finally arrived (and had a stitch because I'm unfit) but I found her at the platform. She was crying because she had no way of paying for the bus fare and when I returned her purse she was very thankful.
So, help people out if you can.
Then again, there have been times when things didn't go so well...
