Well, no responces yet but based on my limited research the Men's Gallery seems to be promising. There is a really nice looking place called Twin Peaks but it's not open on Wednesdays.
Can anyone suggest a classier place than Men's Gallery?

It looks like my wife won't be accepting any lap dances, this is strictly a look-see event.

I made the mistake of wasting a couple of hours in Kings Cross on my holiday to Sydney. Seedy dumps with skanky girls and oily touts out front - what a letdown!! I gave up and headed home in disgust after being propositioned by a junkie chick with needle tracks up her arms.

I hit Sydney on the 31st August and my first stop is the Osteopath. I need stretching to get all the kinks out of my electrical cables...can't wait.

Well, if only you guys had responded earlier!!
Our hotel turned out to be only a few hundred meters from the Cross and the men's gallery was a taxi fare away so we thought it might be interesting to check out the raunchy end of town first.

We strolled up the cross and a foreign guy, invited us into a place called 'Sex Machine'. He said there was a live sex show and on the spur of the moment we thought that might be interesting so we took the plunge and went into our first strip club.

What a mistake it turned out to be.

$25 for me, wife was free and upstairs were just a few rows of seats in a dark room facing a stage...an empty stage. We got two drinks ($19.50 for a beer and a mixed drink) and sat down. I had never seen a place like it. After a few minutes of nothing at all some music began playing...clearly someone hit play on an mp3 player and a women came onto the stage. Now, this woman was quite attractive for her size. She was larger than I expected but had an attractive vuluptuous figure but she performed the most lack lustre show I had ever seen while the audience of 3 strange guys plus us watched from the floor. I repeatedly apologized to my wife and assured her this wasn't typical but she was beyond disgusted as was I.

We left shortly and my wife really wasn't keen on seeing anything else but she was a real trooper and agreed to let me show her to the Men's Gallery to see what a decent club looked like but the damage was done by the initial shithole.

We went to the Mens Gallery where I hoped it would be better but her frame of mind was no longer as positive. Unfortunately, we were the only couple there so she felt quite uncomfortable. I think it would have been better had one of the dancers at least shown some kind of interest and tried to have a chat with us as I believe it would have put my wife at ease but we were there half an hour before the waitress even asked us if we wanted drinks.

My wife soon had enough and we left. The men's gallery was nice enough for a strip club and it might have served it's purpose but for the 'sex machine' place. We retired back to the hotel. I was thrilled my wife went so far out of her comfort zone but dissapointed we made the mistake of starting at the wrong end of town. We were so turned off the evening did not end quite as passionately as I hoped.

The next day my wife did acknowledge that stripping ladies were sexy/sexual but the venue was very unfriendly to couples.

So now we were thinking about the feasibility of actually opening a business with that in mind...a dinner/drinks venue with a sexual dance and strip routine that catered for couples....could it work?

Thats an interesting idea. I wonder how licensing would work "dinner theatre" style?
Also the overheads would be a lot, check out the agency fees for striptease, cos if the dancers were employed, rather than working for tips/dances, you would be paying anywhere around $60-$100 an hour for skimpy waitress/stripshows, if you want decent girls.
 
I think regular good wait staff would be fine as it would be all about the show. I imagine a reasonably large stage and each routine would involved 2-3 dancers telling a story. 2 men fighting over a woman, damsel in distress rescued by knight, cowboy,etc, a cheating husband and his two partners, a sailor returning from war to find his wife with another man...there are dozen and dozens of possible scenarios would could be expanded into an erotic dance complete with multimedia backup, costumes and props.
These wouldn't be your run of the mill 22 yr old uni students looking to make a buck by flashing their tits, I'm talking properly trained dancers who are willing to push their boundaries.
Tickets wouldn't be cheap of course, probably $180 per couple but they get a great meal in classy surroundings while watching a show specifically designed to get their juices flowing.

Of course, husbands might prefer lingerie clad waitresses but we wouldn't be offering any kinds of hands on experiences...that's what the partners are for.
I don't see licenceing being an issue at all, it's just an adults only dinner theatre with some boobs out.

I'm a mid-forties guy. I've been living overseas in Europe for about three years and I'm now returning to Sydney, so I'm a bit out of touch.

I haven't decided exactly where I'll be living. I have a house on the north shore, but I'll be selling that and moving somewhere else.
