The OnlyFans theory...

There has been a lot of discussuion lately about prices and the escaltion of them in certian areas and I have a theory I would like to share.
Now this may be wildly incorrect and I welcome all debate.

The rise of OnlyFans.

There is a bucket load of cash to be made there but you have to put ourself out there, produce content, interact with fans (usually as a bot) and charge hundreds of $$$ for videos.

Do 'some' (not all) of our working ladies see what is going on there and feel that they want a piece of that action, but not put themselves out there in that way?

Obviously I am explaining this in a very clumsy fashion but have we reached the point where sites like this one, OnlyFans and the normalisation of Porn and porn stars now reaching celebrity staus has contributed to driving up the prices?

Not a day goes by where News.com.au doesn't have some story regarding OnlyFans or a porn star or an working girl throwing out some advice or some story...

I'm sure someone can explain this better than me, hopefully you get the gist of where I am going with this.

Only Fans has created a much more accessible way for SWs to make money without having to actually meet punters and have sex with them. You can sell pictures, videos etc to a wider audience without having to be a 'porn star' as well.

All this reduces the need for ladies to work as WLs in the traditional sense, so there's less supply and still high demand. Add what you said above to it around expectations of earnings/value then you have a very conducive environment for prices to go up and stay up.

True. Also why risk having sex with strangers when you can eat some asparagus and sell the farts for thousands?

You need a lot of fans to make it worth while. And that takes a lot of advertising your OF profile on Facebook or IG etc.
Full time social media job
OF take 30%
I know ladies who have tried then given up.

With such a willing audience (men) there are no end of opportunities to commercialise sex in its various forms. OF is one such opportunity that works for some creators. I think you're right to some extent Silentboob but the biggest threat to OF is the rise of AI, Digital content creation and real time on line interaction will have a big impact on OF performers and the prices they charge IMO. There will always be a desire for real physical touch, experience and connection so my guess is sex, real sex with a WL will never go out of fashion at any price point (I hope).

With OF, the ladies no longer have privacy, they will be so well known they will find it difficult to find alternative employment. Unfortunately, there is still a stigma about sex work, even only online.

Some of these "content creators" will never need to be employed coz they will make more in one year than it takes a salaried employee to earn in 5-10 years. And even then, at 50+, they are still raking it in because there is a market for...MILF content.

Inflation has been at a real +20% per year for a few years, rent is at all-time highs, interest rates are up, sex workers lost a lot of income during covid, and enough men still think with their dicks.

Prices are only going up from here, but that won't mean more profit for sex workers unless they accept gold, bitcoin, rare art, vintage muscle cars etc.
