Rolf Harris was a much loved children's entertainer and artist from Perth and is now a convicted pedophile.

Oh I didn't know he was from Perth too? , that hits even closer to home for me it feels like a family member has gone bad

You never really know anyone...only the public face. Look at how many ordinary women discover their partner

I find it all hard to understand. Judges ect all have been painted with the same brush. I admit one has to sometimes look twice when a young girl of 13 wears clothes designed for a 18 year old plus plastered with makeup. But on a closer examination one can still see just a young child. Some cultures allow younger girls to act as adults but as their bodies not yet develop death often occurs if there is childbirth. A true horror story!

Disgraced entertainer Rolf Harris chose to leave his house by boat rather than car as he made his way to court in London for sentencing.

Harris was pictured on the Thames after departing his riverside property in Bray, Berkshire.

Earlier this week, he was convicted of a string of sex attacks against underage girls after a seven-week trial at Southwark Crown Court.

The 84-year-old was found guilty of 12 counts of indecent assault between 1968 and 1986, with his youngest victim just seven or eight years old.

Prosecutor Sasha Wass described Harris as a ''sinister pervert'' who used his fame to get close to young women and girls, adding that he had a ''dark side'' and was a ''Jekyll and Hyde character''.

The Metropolitan Police said afterwards Harris "habitually denied any wrongdoing" and "thought his celebrity status placed him above the law".

Harris was convicted of nine assaults between 1968 and 1985 - one on the seven or eight year old, and the rest on teenagers aged between 14 and 19.

The law at the time put the punishment at a maximum of two years, or five years for victims under 13.

The remaining three guilty verdicts were for three counts of indecent assault on Tonya Lee, who waived her right to anonymity, in 1986 when she was 15, when the maximum penalty had changed to 10 years.

Mr Justice Sweeney may consider Harris' age when deciding what sentence to pass.

On Monday he warned Harris's legal team he is likely to face prison.

Since his conviction Harris has been stripped of his Bafta fellowship, lost an honorary degree from the University of East London and also faces losing his CBE.

Police are now looking into dozens more claims from alleged victims in the UK, Australia and New Zealand.

Harris' multimillion-pound fortune could also be badly dented by legal costs and compensation claims as a result of his guilty verdict.

Has just been sentenced to 5 years and 9 months but will likely be freed in 3 years. Honestly no where near long enough. Although he will likely die behind bars.

It sounds like he'll lose everything anyway - being stripped of who he is and being outside to face it, is probably worse that any jail term.

His paintings, his music, his star on the footpath in Perth was going to be removed had it not been stolen. Is this right?
I don`t accept pedophiles but can we no longer say we like his paintings or his music simply because he has been convicted?

Imagine the music world if there was no more Micheal Jackson.

As much as I agree with your train of thought, I believe Michael Jackson was found not guilty on all counts.

But what you are saying about the art I do actually agree with, regardless of the creator I think it should still be able to appreciate it on its own merit.

Rolf Harris.......famous pedophile wont his paintings be worth something now ? Society has practically killed him anyway,so paintings should go up in value youd think. Id buy one.

This would be about the best that I saw....not really a fan. Go check ebay, paintings selling like hotcakes.

I 100% believe he is guilty. He's always creeped me out, even as a kid, makes my skin crawl. I'm glad the judge is looking at sentencing him for longer due to the public out cry about the leniency of his sentence.
