In a non comedic role...he was great in the movie What dreams may come. The movie is about the Afterlife, and when he is tragically killed in a car accident, because the bond that he had with his wife was so deep, his wife takes her own life to be with him. Unfortunately bit of life imitating art, but a movie where he showed such great emotion.
Set to part of the ending monologue from Williams’ 1996 movie Jack — in which he plays a boy who ages four times faster than a normal human being — the video shows clips from a handful of the beloved actor’s films, including Hook, Patch Adams, Good Will Hunting, Popeye and Jumanji.
“Please, don’t worry so much. Because in the end, none of us have very long on this Earth. Life is fleeting. And if you’re ever distressed, cast your eyes to the summer sky when the stars are strung across the velvety night. And when a shooting star streaks through the blackness, turning night into day ... make a wish and think of me. Make your life spectacular. I know I did.”
I grew up on his movies.... GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD MORNING VIETNAM!!!!! RIP. Always loved. Always missed. God, give strength to his family to deal with such tragic loss.

I also am a bit disturbed by the loud self deprecating humor however that photo of Robin with his baby daughter is how I choose to remember him .
Robin Williams will be remembered not only as an Academy Award winning actor and acclaimed comedian but a dedicated family man following his tragic death at age 63 on Monday.
The actor celebrated his daughter Zelda Rae's 25th birthday on July 31 and shared a touching photo of himself cradling his only girl to Instagram.
The photo was Williams' final post on social media. He was tragically found dead at his home in Tiburon, California from an apparent suicide 11 days later.
Robin Williams was an airman, a doctor, a genie, a nanny, a president, a professor, a Peter Pan, and everything in between. My condolences. Good Night Vietnam. We love you.
