I have Covid now in iso for a few more days.
I had third jab, first booster in December so with the new variants was keen to get fourth jab to update which I did four weeks ago so timing was probably good.
Fortunately for me relatively mild like a cold with some chest congestion, I’ve had worse but still consider the vaccine has helped.
A friend who may have transmitted virus, advised he tested positive after we had had coffee meetup, had similar symptoms.
Another friend who is over ten years younger, btw I’m not old, had booster a couple months ago tested positive same day as me and is doing worse. Will recover at home but if feeling like crap.
I’m practically symptom free now. Followed the government medical advice, taken some meds all OTC no prescription needed including cough mixture to clear the minor congestion I had. Feeling good.
There’s a sense of relief now having finally tested positive and having Covid because I’ve experienced it now no more wondering if or when I’ll get it or whether I’ll be hospitalised.
I can go ahead with travel plans without to being overly concerned about getting the virus.
I still wore a mask a lot but not everywhere like when I went to the cinema last week and cafes.
My opinion is the vaccinations aided me not necessarily stopping me from getting the virus but in keeping its effects mild.
Not interested in a vaccination debate, you can choose now whether to get vaccinated or not and like many things in life your fate is generally decided by your own decisions.
Stay safe everyone.
I’ll wave from the plane as I fly off to some exotic and warmer destination.
