Back traveling again nearly every week.I have been with Qantas for more than 20 years as a frequent flyer and club lounge member.
Qantas in the early days didn’t have a feature for the hyphen in my name about 6 years ago they added Hypens for the odd old fogey like me that likes to see her name spelt correctly.
Now back into travel they have the hyphen on the machine but after waiting 30 minutes to use kiosk it rejects my booking as says go get help.
Waiting for the plane today I thought I would address the issue and Qantas Lounge staff said just take out the hyphen you must booked it that way.
We didn’t book it that way yes either Diane or Kate make my bookings and after asking them and sighting for myself they use hyphen.
Going back to typing in a name that is not mine annoys me.Am I being too perdantic I’ve seen them pull up passengers with one letter mistake in name so should I insist that Qantas get it right or should I just move on

Why don’t you just scan the back of your frequent flyer card to check in like everyone else does? Much easier!

Lane 6 weeks traveled 4 planes and every one had had at least a30 minute delay I think it is deliberate as understaffed so I won’t have to get to the airport two hours early I can go back to 1.5 hours before flight

My last 3 Qantas flights have been delayed for one time 3 hours hanging around Mascot waiting waiting for a flight crew to arrive the other 2 times were over an hour....Jetstar is just as bad but i usually fly Qantas or Virgin

Yesterday the Federal Court found that Qantas sacking 2,000 staff and then getting a private contractor to look after maintenance and baggage handling was illegal. The media reports over the last school holidays (that included the Easter break) showed how unprepared Qantas were with many planes taking off but leaving their passengers luggage behind. So I'm not surprised that Qantas service standards have fallen dramatically but their response was that passengers were underprepared for travel instead of taking responsibility for their stuff ups.

Regarding the booking name - the system should allow you to use the same name as is in your Passport.

I drive a truck, I have a bar fridge and a bed. Loud tunes and heaps of legroom. No one pushes their seat into my knees. Also, a premium leather walled interior just like your secret sex dungeon on wheels powered by 600 thirsty horses…
I’ll be your truck driver escort!!!

they overcharged me and won’t refund for 6-8 days. Same day they announce the purchase of new planes. They are a disgrace

I’m a lifetime gold with them through flying with work and they’ve been pissing me off for years. Trouble is people (like me) are rusted i
on to them because of their FF program... something they know well. No matter how much they devalue the product and service they also know we will keep flying with them.

Maybe Qantas needs to get rid of that arrogant little Irish poof that they have in charge.
Also a great hypocrite… champions the rights of the gay community (and credit to him for being open about his sexuality) yet quite happily jumps into bed with a close partnership with Emirates which is opened by the Govt of Dubai whose lack of tolerance and punishment levels for gay people is openly stated. His priority is always his own pay packet …

These ground handling companies can't keep a hold of staff. Hours and pay are crap no incentives like staff travel. At least when Qantas had it's own staff, they were entitled to staff travel. This consisted of 10% airfares plus taxes, which you were standby means you could only fly if seats were available. Things will get alot worst when travel goes back to normal.

The other problem was that once Qantas offloaded their ground staff to the private contractor, the private contractor casualised the staff, so obviously they were the first to seek other employment once the pandemic hit. Now when things are getting back to normal they can't get those staff back and also they were paying these staff before the pandemic less money than those working in aged care and the people working in aged care are underpaid as it is.

You are indeed a special one.
6 - 8 days for a refund, or a typo and meant to say weeks or months?
I would be interested to know if you actually achieve that and really do get something back into your account in that many days.

Qantas will soon remove the Kiosks.
Everything is now done via the Qantas App.
It's all part of going "Green" -

QANTASS .. Im still a fan of the virgin ..like the 1st time evry time .. lol

But YEP , qf are absolutely NOT a premium carrier internally, agree.

But AGAIN , it's WE that is the problem .. 'we' continue to buy their product and then complain. Just don't .. they won't drop you off their "you're a total sucker" loyalty / slavery program .. customers ALWAYS have the real power but seems most don't realise it. Same as getting a pisspoor hj. Dont return.

Yeah but Qantas know we will return because Virgin have returned to the no frills airline in economy class like it was when it first started. So passengers who want a meal & beverages included in their fare will fly with Qantas knowing that the service may still be shite.

I used to be a patriotic supporter of Qantas, but it has gone downhill since that p88fter took over.
I don't fly with them unless I have no choice and have to go up north for a few days.
The last two trips I had with them, one I stayed 4 hours in the air for a 2 1/2 hour trip to Broome,. They couldn't land because they had faulty planes on the tarmak but they could have checked prior to taking off. We got diverted to Port Hedland where we stayed for 3 hours, then got told to re-checkin and flew back to Perth. No apologies!!! Wasted $$ on my flight plus 14 hours and missed a 4 day trip in Broome. Fucken C$$ts.
The last one they left all our checked in luggage behind. I arrived without any gear....fuck*n cun$s again.
