Love the discussion. As a client of both legal and illegal services here in the U.S. (depends on the state - basically Nevada and everywhere else) it's cool to see casual talk about it. Here, most that I see are the erotic stories.

I worry that by choosing to be a client of sex workers, I contribute to exploitation. Since it is illegal in most places, I definitely could be. It's good to see that the extra time to find legal choices is probably the best all around.

My questions - two specific and one general. Is it possible to reject drunk clients? (Or is it only really apparent of the need to reject once it is a more private situation?)

While I'm asking, my more general, what is WL and ML? I haven't seen those abbreviations before? (Even as I ask, I know I'm going to Google anyway. Still, just in case...)

G'day Chase

Welcome and please accept our pity for living in a slightly more repressed society than Aus.

WL = working lady, typically providing FS (full service), i.e. sexual intercourse

ML = massage lady, typically providing services short of intercourse, i.e. massage and HJ (handjob) and sometimes BJ (blowjob); however, some MLs in some parlours (usually unapproved brothels) also go all the way, so it can be confusing

Could you please post the Slate article/page where the link to this site appears? Just curious.

Thanks for the explanation. The "M" seemed obvious to suss out, but I had no clue how the "W" would be differentiating. Now I know! Woooo!

Thanks for the Slate link, chase.

I see some prominent forum members are mentioned, e.g. 'It is 2 a.m. on a Sunday in the back room of Langtrees, the best-known brothel on Australia’s west coast. Lana, the mumsy phone operator, places down the handset and puts on her specs to peer at her computer. ...'

I'm not ROFLing, Lana, honest I'm not.

Pros - Constantly learning and experiencing new things in an industry I love, financial independence, flexible hours and the variety of people I get to meet that I usually wouldn't.
Cons - As with any job, balancing work and personal life, the unpredictability of demand.

Kitty said unpredictability of demand. unpredictability of demand.

Farmers have the same problem with the additional handicap being a price taker

' Most farmers will never be able to influence the price of their product. Their product is produced by their neighbours, by strangers in distant states, and by foreign producers. Any attempt to independently raise their prices will see their sales evaporate, to be readily replaced by these neighbours, strangers and foreigners.

And in reality the sex industry has some of the same problems that Davide Leyonhjelm pointed out as to competing with neighbours, strangers and foreigners.

Pro is the money
Con is waiting around for the customers to come in :(

Feeling safe is not really a problem at LP as the girls all have your back here and staff are always watching the time and will check on you if something doesn't feel right :)

But also not having friends or family know what you do for work is a con as I feel like I'm hiding a second life and the risk of someone walking in at work is something I do worry about.

OK - so get proactive. Direct marketing.....Maybe mailing lists is a way to go??
Worst thing that could happen is that the recipient of the email would mark the mail as spam....and many probably would but I reckon you would get some positive responses.

Cost to you is a bit of time - what do you reckon?

I think a persons with a wife or girlfriend who shares a computer could be in strife Zeus
And to prevent getting further in the mire with his wife/GF forwards the email to the authorities as a girl soliciting sex for financial gain

True that true that, only a half jug i hold. Homer hasn't been in your shoes, hence the jug half empty.

There are pros n cons with every job. You can have your dream job but a prick for a boss, vice versa.
