yep translators are great... and Homer, the auto subtitle is already here I think for the hearing impaired.
I have a visually impaired Client who has an Iphone text-to-audio app... its terrific. messes up on auto correct so I have to be careful, but it even recognises
Bottom line is , if i cant be understood or understand my client, then its a no go for me... i am really more concerned about the attitude of the person ..rudeness, berating me for not working "his" hours, paranoia.. all sorts of cultural things that can creep in and give me the creeps
Now the only thing we're waiting for is a universal translator to be implemented in all corners of the world, so when one speaks a foreign language, it comes out in the native language of that country. But i hope they don't use Google Translate as their back end translation engine. It may well be lost in translation.
