Amazing! Thank you for posting all these suggestions, I'm planning what to do on my days off and this all looks fabulous!

I love Darwin and could go on and on about all the fantastic things to do and see! But i'll keep this list just to a couple.
cage-of-death-1.jpg

I always thought it was a bit of a touristy gimmick - until my mate visiting convinced me to do it and it was incredible! I try to encourage as many people as possible. http://www.crocosauruscove.com/cage-of-death/

Croc Jumping at Adelaide river. There are a couple mobs that do it and they have all been great. Check the tide times, you want to go at High tide in Darwin which will be low tide on the river, exposing the muddy river banks and increasing sightings. http://www.jumpingcrocodilecruises.com.au/

Litchfield National Park - you need to take a whole day to do this!! Amazing waterfalls and fresh water, croc free, swimming holes. The first photo is Florence Falls and the second is Buley Rock Holes. There are a few different day tours available, alternatively you can hire a car and head out (possibly even combine croc jumping and swimming in one day)

Cascade Falls is also at Licthfield but I recommend you give it a whole day it's self, trying to fit in Casscade, Wangi, Florence and Buely into one day is just too rushed!!
My friends and I would take a few cold beverages, take the path to the Upper Falls, it's a bit of a trek but the cool water when you arrive is even more refreshing! You can walk up the creek a ways, exploring little rock pools and beautiful nature and animals. Then take your time walking all the way down the falls back to the carpark - one convenient loop!

longform-original-20311-1412494744-4.jpg

Berry Springs - 40-60mins from Darwin CBD till you're in the water!!! They have picnic and bbq areas, 4 different swimming areas, bathrooms and a kiosk but you'd need to check the opening hours. Pretty sure the Pools close at 6 or 6:30pm but you can easily pop out for an afternoon swim and relax.

Always check the conditions and access for Litchfield and Berry Springs http://www.parksandwildlife.nt.gov.au/parks/access#.Vtvk0Pgvmbk

Fish Feeding!!! One of my favourites! And right in Darwin City! Check their website for feeding times as it changes daily with the tide!
@PetaBloom I want to go fish feeding :)

Territory Tribute – Overture To Peace

Date: Wednesday 24th April 2019

Acclaimed artists, musicians and Indigenous performers will converge on Darwin for the Overture to Peace spectacular concert event at twilight on Anzac Day Eve.

Overture to Peace will take the audience on a journey – it will honor the men and women who have fought for our precious democracy, reflect on the enormity of the sacrifices made in order to ensure the freedoms, and shine a light on the Territory’s unique wartime story.

Directed by Australian musician and television personality, John Foreman OAM, the event will feature performances by Human Nature, Dami Im and Marina Prior as well as local artists and the much loved Darwin Symphony Orchestra at TIO Stadium at Marrara in what promises to be a unique and emotive ceremonial event.

NIGHTCLIFF SEABREEZE FESTIVAL 2019

SUNSET PARK PM Friday 10 May
A DAY ON THE FORESHORE Sat 11 May

Head down and check it out - fun for the whole family :)

SBFlyerFrontWEB.webp

The Nightcliff Seabreeze Festival is a week of art, music and culture in May. It kicks off with a full day of events along the Nightcliff Foreshore, 'A Day on the Foreshore' (Saturday 12 May 2018) and runs until the Grand Finale Gig on the following weekend.

Seabreeze began as, and remains, a strongly volunteer supported and run festival. In 2004 a group of artists, small businesses and community organisations joined forces to create a community festival. Senior Larrakia Elder, Kath Mills was invited to join these initial meetings and named the potential festival 'Seabreeze'.

A year later we became an incorporated, not for profit organisation, affectionately known as NAMCI - Nightcliff Arts, Music and Culture Incorporated and 2005 saw the inaugural Nightcliff Seabreeze Festival hit the foreshore with colour and culture.

The aim of the Festival has held strong in providing a local forum for all facets of the arts including visual arts, music, dance, circus, performance, spoken word, exhibitions, and workshops.

Performance platforms provide opportunities for our artists to grow and develop while encouraging cross cultural diversity and collaboration amongst our community. Staging an event such as this has been built on long standing collaborations and partnerships across the wider community.

If you're looking to get out and about in Darwin this weekend consider one of these great places Darwin has to offer!

Mindil Beach
Mindil Beach is a beach located in The Gardens near Darwin's central business district. Mindil Beach holds the Mindil Beach Sunset Markets, which runs during the Dry season (from May until October) of every year. These markets are popular with both the locals and tourists alike and can attract thousands of people.

Casuarina Beach
Casuarina Beach is one of the most popular in Darwin, extending from Rapid Creek through Casuarina to Lee Point. Wide, sandy beach popular for dog walking, picturesque scenery & views of sunsets. It's easy to find, simply drive along to the end of Trower Rd.

Nightcliff Foreshore/Jetty
Whether you are into walking, cycling, swimming or general strength exercises there is something for you along the Nightcliff Foreshore. A shared path from Rapid Creek to Nightcliff connects numerous outdoor exercise stations and the iconic Nightcliff Pool where you can enjoy a swim while taking in views over Darwin Harbour. The picturesque Nightcliff Jetty is a popular spot for fishing, picnics, bbq's, along with five locations where a variety of food trucks offer some fantastic eats and watching the stunning Darwin sunsets.

Lake Bennet
Lake Bennett is a small artificial freshwater lake located 80 km south of Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia within the Coomalie Shire. Lake Bennett Wilderness resort was developed in the 1990s. The resort offers a variety of accommodation options as well as canoe hire, spa treatments, a 9-hole golf course, restaurant, and conference facilities. (Perfect for a weekend getaway)

Lake Alexander
Situated in East Point Reserve, Lake Alexander provides a picturesque body of water that is safe for recreational activities throughout the year. Lake Alexander is a popular location for recreation activities, both in the water and around the shores. It's great for paddle boarding, swimming and a variety of watercraft activities, or find a shady spot to do yoga or have a picnic.

Leanyer Recreational Park
Leanyer Water Park is FREE and open seven days a week. A few things in the park to enjoy include; swimming pools, children’s paddling pools, water playground facility, three water slides 14m tall and over 100m long, an all-abilities playground, a skate park, a basketball court with floodlights, a cycling path, shaded gas barbecues and picnic areas. Check out the website for more info :)

https://nt.gov.au/leisure/sport/fac...ind-a-sports-facility/leanyer-recreation-park

Palmerston Waterpark
The super slide stands at 14 meters high and enables people to race each other to the bottom. The racer slide features a 'ready, set, go' system at the bottom and records your race place when you exit. There are also two wet play areas. The play pad for children 10 years and under features sprays, water curtains and a shallow wading pool. The splash pad for children six years and above features more active water cannons, buckets and high-intensity interactive play. Check out the website to see what other exciting things the park has to offer :)

https://nt.gov.au/leisure/sport/facilities-and-contacts/find-a-sports-facility/palmerston-water-park

Darwin Wave Pool
Here, a palm-fringed swimming pool turns into a tube-riding, boogie-boarding bucket of fun when the siren signals the start of the swell. It is giggles galore in twenty minutes bursts as the waves send inflatable tubes bobbing about and boogie boards riding the crests. The swell here is gentle enough that there's little danger of wiping out (and there are no surfboards allowed) but there are red-and-yellow-clad surf lifeguards at the sidelines to keep everyone safe. In a lull, relax on banana lounges under enormous beach umbrellas, or spread out on the lawn in the shade. There are wading pools and fountains to keep wannabe grommets entertained, and a kiosk to keep the whole family in supply of ice-creams and drinks. More information on the website :)

Big Bouy Water Park

Big Buoy Water Park is the NT's very own floating water park for thrill-seekers aged 6 and up. Proudly Territory owned and operated, Big Buoy II is the latest installment of top quality inflatables, bigger and better than our maiden year 2016. Big Buoy is located in the safe swimming area of the Recreation Lagoon and is just $16.50 per person, per hour. This is a challenging and fun water sports activity with a climbing cube, multiple slides, launching pillow and more. The park requires some upper body strength to navigate and parents are strongly encouraged to jump on with kids; please note that adult supervision for under 11s is required. Check out the website to learn more :)

Check out the massive magnetic termite mounds

mounds1.jpg mounds3.jpg

You’ll find hundreds of huge termite-built structures here, measuring up to two metres high and complete with nursery chambers, tunnels, chimneys and more. There’s also a formal boardwalk and platform so that you can enjoy the best views. There’s termite mounds in every continent of the world, but only Australia has these “magnetic” mounds, named as such because they tend to align in a north-to-south direction.

I never understood why the guys always feel sad or depressed once they are done any clue ?
I think there is a often comedown that happens after having sex. Thier heart rate slows, thier breathing gets easier, and thier muscles relax. For some, this is nothing more than a cue to take a nap...Umm..I don't think that they get sad....if the relationship scenario is good enough...

During ejaculation men release a cocktail of brain chemicals, including norepinephrine, serotonin, oxytocin, vasopressin, nitric oxide, and the hormone prolactin. The release of prolactin is linked to the feeling of sexual satisfaction, and it also mediates the “recovery time” or refractory period. Studies have shown that men deficient in prolactin to have a faster recovery time.

Prolactin levels are naturally higher during sleep, and animals injected with the chemical become tired immediately. This suggests a strong link between prolactin and sleep, so it’s likely that the hormone’s release during orgasm causes men to feel sleepy.

Personally, because of elevated prolactin from bodybuilding…supplements, I take pyridoxine (vitamin B6) or if that doesn’t control it, Cabergoline.

But all of this is a complex and fascinating hormonal balance. :)
