Insurance company & moral values is a total oxymoron 😎
First KPI in the insurance game is grab the premium and avoid all payouts (commonly will rely on/quote ”usual industry practise” even where this conflicts with the contract of insurance!)
Recently fought & won on their “unconscionable“ behaviour where they tried to use their “industry” size/power to try & bully/intimidate a claim payment and not honour their contracted undertakings! Wasn’t a huge amount, but a moral victory & established an important precedent for a collective with similar policy coverage!

Classy interview. You stayed so calm, but also resilient. A lesser person would have been spitting chips, which would only have put people off and let the insurer off the hook. I loved that you supported the body corporate (which also highlighted that the insurer was isolated and out of line) and stressed how you made the neighbourhood MORE secure (making the insurer look even dumber). The interviewer was good too, in that he didn't interrupt with argumentative bullshit but let you explain what was going on. It's still a terrible state of affairs though.

Have brothels or similar businesses in Australia had recent expensive claims history in any state, or suspected fraudulent claims when lockdowns may have permanently closed businesses? Bad claims may never be public if insurers negotiate payouts with litigious customers.

I expect insurance companies to be too amoral to even be prudish, as I'm sure being prudish isn't good for their marketing in 2022.

Unfortunately, it has been an issue for a long time Nev, so it is probably not related to any recent claims. In 1999, a report called 'Unjust and Counter-Productive: The Failure of Governments to Protect Sex Workers from Discrimination' noted that sex providers faced "difficulties in obtaining goods and services to operate a sex industry business (e.g. higher rent/lease agreements, income protection and business insurance coverage, credit card facilities, banking facilities such as loans and other credit arrangements)".

OMG,

I nearly pissed myself hearing that the Insurance company had "moral concerns", unbefuckingleavable coming from an organisation of scum sucking bottom dwellers who's entire business model is based on the misfortune of others.

I am pretty sure more people get screwed by insurance companies than people do at Langtree's

Just can't understand it snd don't know why brothels can't operate in industrial areas???
Do they have to be like Las Vegas and have the famous brothel the chicken ranch 5 minutes from town.

I’m sad everyday that Darwin is closed. So many fun memories from working there. The clients were so lovely, and being in the tropical climate was such a lovely change. Darwin will always have a special place in my heart. My favourite place in the whole of Australia 🇦🇺 🐊 ☀️ 🍻
