Institutional disrespect of Sex Workers

While the treatment of Christina Holgate ( former head of Australia Post ) has been disgraceful, it is a shame that one of her comments reflected a general non acceptance of sex work as a legitimate and worthwhile business.
While outlining the poor treatment she received, she noted that she had been humiliated and called a whore. This implies that being called a whore is an insult, which because of the way it is used, most SW s also consider an insult. This also reflects the generally negative view of sex work in society.
Seems we still have a way to go ! I will continue to park out the front at Lantrees and happily walk straight in the front door in the middle of the day.

I just don't get how people can get so wound up and bent out of shape when it comes to what the media "report" as Factual

FFS in th4e past they used to twist whatever they possibly could just for the sake of making a "Headline Story"
But unfortunately now it doesn't even need to be a "Headline Story" it just needs the the amount of stupid people willing to click on the link to read the bullshit!

Prime example would be with the Twerking Dancers at the launch of our new MAS Supply
The Popular and respected 'ABC' happened to show footage of our Governor-General, Chief of Navy and other "dignitaries" present at the Twerking dance show

Roll forward to the Public outcry that our (Male) Governor-General and (Male) Chief of Navy were present during this totally obscene act/show of twerking of scantily dressed females

Then roll even further forward to the APOLAGY issued by the ABC, stating the STORY should never been edited in that way and that the twerking was part of pre celebrations before "dignitaries" arrived

All I know that, I was not there and can not say what exactly happened and who is telling the truth!

As far as Christina Holstein, I think I may have read one or two of her books
But in regards to Christine Holgate????? Was not there, do not know and really do not give a dam
I personally think it is someone brought up with a Silver Spoon that has not got her way, or has been shown up to be not doing what her role involves and like most public servants, she does not want to forfeit ANY of the benefits of her position

I would not trust a so call "Reporter" and definitely would not be trusting any person in any Government Position

Definitely agree with what say Mark, and yeah, I didn't check spelling, .. just the point I was making was that Christine Holgate did say she was called a whore in the context of it being an insult and that disrespects the people who's services I would assume nearly all the people on this site either use, support or provide,and that THAT is a shame.

I've also deleted comments on spelling. We don't focus on people's spelling and grammar here. Everyone understood who and what was being said
