Friendly Medical CENTRES FOR MALE PUNTERS in Perth

I don't understand the privacy concerns. If you request a STI test in any General Practice, no one should know other than you and the GP
For someone in WA, Suggest you check the list of reportable infections under the WA Health Act. Both the doctor and the pathologist are obliged to report including patient ID In the case of a positive result (not if you just are negative they don’t have to report that you seek a test) usual privacy rules go out the window in cases of public health risk.

And in WA (I gather in the rest of Australia too) its also a criminal offence to knowingly have a STI and still continue having unprotected sex without disclosing it to your partners etc. There is a transgender prostitute currently locked up in Casuarina for such an offence.

Just had to go through this. Yes they do have to notify but they emphasise that this is for statistics and is not public or shared with anyone else. I ended up at Northbridge Medical Centre, as they had a same day appointment available. You can book online through their webpage, which is nice.
They said in terms of contact tracing they will get you to do it yourself.

I would recommend going to them, whole thing was handled very well and not awkward. Was not bulk billed, $80 for consultation with a fair bit claimable on medicare. Second appointment to get results was bulk billed.

I had some symptoms, so was given antibiotics straight away. Got test results about a week later. No recognised STIs, but did have a haemophilus influenzae infection in the urinal tract, which has been linked to oral sex. (dick flu?). Guessing I should notify who I might have got it from, although its a bit odd, as it's apparently a common bacteria in the throat, so might not really be anything to treat for her. Still a reminder that condoms for oral sex is not silly.

The M clinic webpage seemed clear to me that they only want LGBT, but they probably don't require you to prove it!

Does M Clinic see hetero patients or LGBT only? Went to their website and still not clear.
All types. No discrimination. Yes they focus on LGBT and sex workers but straight guys go also. I have been going there for years. All the nurses and doctors are gay, but if that doesn’t bother you then all good.
Excellent service and they appreciate the extra business.

No Mate. Doesn't bother me at all. Why would it? Just wanted to make sure I understand their house rule. Don't want to disrespect anyone by being ignorance and rocking up "unwelcomed". Cheers.

There is this Magenta Clinic Mate. Not sure if they are still operational. It's just a bit hard to get in as they usually open only during certain days and hours.

Does magenta see clients? I believe it to be specific for working ladies.

I recently enquired about monthly testing anonymously. Magenta would only do swabs 3 monthly for free and anonymously. I'm overly concerned about the free, would rather pay the gap and have it not come up on my medicare (my health record) history. SHQ want medicare details.

About paying gap, isn't it usually those clinic still requires Medicare?

Every medical clinic requires Medicare for patient records. If its a bulk bill place then client doesn't need to pay anything. If not, then client will need to pay the 'gap' which you can recover from private health insurance if you have it. WL's who are on a student visa are required to have full private medical insurance before getting their visa, so they are covered if they need to a visit a clinic.

If you get tested at a normal GP there is a tiny little box on the request form that you can tick which will stop it being uploaded on My Health Record.

For anyone who is interested there is a relatively new app called Instant Scripts you can request a full STI check directly from the app. There is a charge of $20 and they do require a medicare card. Once approved they will email you the pathology request and you take it to your local pathology clinic. From there they will email through your results.

As per WA Health guidelines, positive tests do need to be reported, but again, all very discreet and private. If you go on to need medication they will email you a script to take to your local chemist.

WE are living in the year of 2022
I have asked this question on another thread before.

1. Why does the Health Department need to know? Nosey Prick's
2. Why can't you walk into a chemist and buy the medical requirement over the counter?
3. Why haven't they made a medicine that cure's all your problems in one packet?

Surely this would help reduce the STI issue's everywhere and we could return to being cavemen.

:excited:The Frenchman :excited:

I’m not too sure with magenta, don’t know if they’re exclusively for WL but doesn’t hurt to ring up and ask if punters can use their services ❤️

It is my experience that the 'Aboriginal Medical Centres' provide a fantastic bulk billed service. Medicare funded so no privacy on that front but otherwise , Gr8. Nope, that are not exclusive/apartheid clinics.

Instant scripts $20 for the pathology referral go piss in a cup and get a jab 2 days later they send you result via app.

I recently had a realy good experience getting PrEP (includes STI/HIV screen and kindey function test) Nurse Shannon Tassells at collaboration health in joondana, very discreet covered by Medicare costs 35 bucks she doesn’t ask about personal life just your recent sex experiences with no judgment she was amazing and would highly recommend seing her in person over instant scripts so you can show her any lumps or skin issues you the worried about too.

That is good value... I use Stigma Health online service at $39 for the script. If you return a positive test result that can be treated with prescription meds then they send you a script via email.
