Durian is the king of fruit prove me wrong, many types of Durian in particular I love the vietnamese variety, it tastes like a creamy mango. there are malaysian and thai varieties which are known to be more potent. there is not better way to lock in a south east asian holiday experience than with a bit of durian off a tiny side street stall.

A lot of Thai hotels have a no durian policy in the rooms or charge a cleaning fee.
