To cut pollution down it's going to cost businesses twice the amount of revenue which will affect their profit margin which they won't do. And since everything decided is heavy in politics it's going to take a super long time to decide the course of action required.

The late great Michael Jackson cared deeply about the Environment. We must act now before its too late.
A few of his songs express his concern about the environment and conserving it for future generations.
"Earth Song", "Man in the Mirror", "They Don't Care About Us", "We Are the World" and "Heal the World".

I suspect there was commercial intent behind it though - tapping into the issues of the day to sell more records. He may be late, he may be great musically but people in glass houses...

Prince Charles may have his heart in the right place about the environment like so many celebrities while they fly around increasing their carbon footprints.

We the people also have to watch out for people looking for political gain, which is always used in elections or celebrities to become popular. They say yes we'll fight for it to get votes only to go quiet after getting what they want. Happens a lot.

The people elect its leaders. Australia, UK and America have elected some terrible people as their leaders. Europeans are smarter, more intelligent people and they elect better quality leaders. We as people deserve the leaders we elect. European nations have best climate change policies: they have built quality railway networks, reduced carbon emissions and lead the way in renewable technology innocvation. Australia, UK and America have climate change deniers as leaders that are in line with the beliefs of its people. We the people elect the leaders that we deserve.

That's the problem Stovo82 we can't elect the right ones only the least worst of the bunch. The government won't allow votes to be null so really they say your choosing but your answer is already made up for you. It's a brainwashing scheme really.

THERE IS NO CLIMATE EMERGENCY !!

10 simple points of dealing with climate change

1. Climate is changing and always has - we need to adapt as we always have

2. Man contributes *something* to the change process - how much is not known because the models don’t match observations

3. Trying to stop it is too expensive, we should work on adaptation as we have since all of history

4. There is a political agenda to control people by controlling the air and water via money - the whole issue has been hijacked

5. Higher CO2 is likely to increase food production - PC incorrect to say this; also water vapour (eg. cloud) is the biggest influencer of climate (warmer = evaporation = clouds = reflection of heat -- thus self regulating)

6. Warmer has been better for humanity historically

7. Minimising pollution and wasteful consumption is a good thing, but not to the point of sending is back to caves

8. The hypocritical hyperbole of the screaming left is not helpful

9. Nuclear needs to be brought online as base load electricity

10. Renewable are too expensive and represent a false economy (e.g. cost of a wind turbine vs its generated power, also the pollution cost in building a turbine [steel and other components]) - ditto electric cars; their total impact pollution is too great

Our best strategy is adaptation (like always) with reasonable mitigation of pollution in general.

*Stolen from the Australian ,

Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in recognition of his efforts to end his country’s long-running border conflict with Eritrea.

The office of Ethiopia’s Prime Minister celebrated his Nobel Peace Prize win and called on “all Ethiopians and friends of Ethiopia to continue standing on the side of peace”.
The tweet sharing the statement added jubilantly: “We are proud as a nation!!!”
The 43-year-old son of poor villagers took office after widespread protests pressured the longtime ruling coalition and hurt one of the world’s fastest growing economies.
Africa’s youngest leader quickly announced dramatic reforms and “Abiymania” began.

Within the Nobel Peace Prize there is a long history of prizes going to statesmen associated with ending conflicts, most recently Colombia’s Juan Manuel Santos who was awarded the prize in 2016 for helping to bring his country’s 50-year civil war to an end.
