Punter beware at Bodywell Cannington!
I went here yesterday and checked the price list at the front desk. $75 for one hour, so I asked for that. In the room, the girl brought in the EFTPOS machine and charged me $77 ($2 GST "card fee"). These fees are not disclosed on the price list.
I thought, "whatever, it's $2".
I enjoyed a lovely 45-minute massage and agreed to a $100 "tip" for happy ending. Expensive I thought, but she was cute and I was hard lol.
After finishing and cleaning up, I mentioned that as we had finished in 45 minutes not 1 hour, the price of the "tip" should be adjusted to account for the difference between the 45 minute and 1 hour service. She said "extra $115". Apparently GST is now $15%...?
I was calculating:
$17 difference between 1 hour and 45 minute services.
$100 tip - $17 = $83.
The woman was failing to understand even with me showing her on my phone's calculator, and she progressively became more hostile, aggressive and started shouting at me. I was keeping calm, sitting on a chair, and asked her not to shout at me.
After about 10 minutes of me trying to politely explain, understand her side of the story (broken English not helping) and a call to her manager or wherever, I told her manager I would pay $93 (so $10 more than I owed) to settle the matter and then I'd leave. The manager on the phone was civil and didn't shout or get aggressive.
They talked for a while in another language and when the call ended the woman picked up the EFTPOS machine with a face of thunder. She said, "you pay $95!". I laughed and said, "not a chance". I paid $93 and thanked her for her time. She told me to never come back here (I won't be!).
As I left, I warned the next punter who was waiting at the front desk to be cautious as the pricing can change randomly.
So, just be careful here, the first tiny card fee (or GST, it kept changing) I didn't care about but the second one that was only disclosed after the end of the service wasn't acceptable for me. She knew I was paying with card because I used it at the beginning so I expected the $100 extra tip to include that.
