I am totally devastated watching what is happening in Australia right now with the horrific bushfires. I am pledging a donation of $500,000 directly to the local fire services that are battling so hard on the frontlines. My heart goes out to our friends and family in Oz
apparently they are and they were down last year as well, be interesting to see difference
its 7.50pm here Saturday night and so far everything is ok

The smoke over the last 2 days has cleared somewhat, with light trickles of rain throughout the day yesterday. People are scared and im sure the conditions are stirring up past memories of the 2003 fires for some ,,, you cant blame people for packing up and leaving Canberra till the smoke clears.

The problem with Canberra is its the bush capital lovely in winter, when its minus 5 to 10 degrees and rainy and green, but as soon as summer hits its a tinderbox waiting for a spark. I love Canberra in Winter , Summer its awful!
Fingers crossed we get that rain.... I drove to Sydney today .... it’s just so dry.... it’s great they have re-opened Kings Highway.... I’m hoping to get down that way soon just to take a drive and spend some money, those poor business would be finding it so difficult at the moment.

Today Minister for Police and Emergency Services Mick Gentleman announced the State of Alert has been amended to only apply to rural and remote areas of the ACT including Tharwa and Uriarra Village.

Heavy storms and huge hailstones lash Canberra
Fast-moving thunderstorms could bring damaging winds, large hail and heavy rain across the ACT on Monday.
Canberra looks really beautiful at the moment, you would never know only a couple weeks ago we weren't looking so good,,,,everything is green and the sky is so blue,,, we used our BBQ for the first time this summer last night and i mowed the lawns, its funny you know, it actually smelt like summer with fresh cut grass, mother nature is a beautiful thing really.
