I'd say it was a useful observation. A $30 increase over 10 years is a welcome surprise! If only housing, fuel and whiskey had the same trajectory!

Ok, inflation hasn't been a flat 2.5% over the last 10 years. Let's take the Dec 2024 number because Q1 2025 isn't released yet, and compare to Dec 2014.
Using the Index reference base 2011–12, Australia all capitals.
Dec 2024 -139.4
Dec 2014 -106.6
That gives us - $156.92

Still not a bad price !
