AMP raid 18th February

My sister in law used to do these as she was part of the Australian Crime Commission which is now part of Border Force which encompasses Customs/Immigration and the Feds. Unless it was a raid on a farm, the visits were quite discrete especially if other businesses are nearby. Two or three officers in plain clothes would go in and ask to see the rosters, check the passports/visas of those on the rosters to see if they matched. If there are any discrepancies then they start to take action by taking people into custody.
If state police involved, could just as easily be a case of checking that they are keeping the mandatory Covid register, then anything else they find (like empty condom packets or used ones in the bin), are bonusses for them.

They could well do their pre raid research here, the old loose lips!

Had a girl told me before. Some of girls with student visa they were actually were not real students. It is easy to have student visa to stay. They even didn't go to classes often. Not sure if Police will check on their attendance. They come here for money and, if they were lucky, found someone here got married and stay.

Those will be students who have signed up at the English Language Colleges which have set up all over Australia. As the borders have closed to international arrivals they are the first to suffer financially and some have subsequently shut down. When the borders do reopen it has been stated that the first international students to be let in will be university students where there are more checks and balances on visa's etc. For example to apply for a two year Graduate Visa, the said university student needs to have a degree. Then within that two year graduate visa timeframe they can work fulltime at any job they wish, but also try and find a job that matches their degree and also matches the skills list which the Australian Government issues twice a year. If they can't find a 'real job' then they do further study or they have to leave the country. But if they do get a 'real job' then they in due course can apply for permanent residency and citizenship.

It’s definitely correct. A good friend of mine is an AMP girl. Shop was visited Thursday by immigration checking girls visas. Those on bridging visas awaiting student or other visas allowing work told they can’t work and face potential deportation. Shop given stern warning.
Suspect they are working their way through all shops. Expect a few of your faves to be missing until visas are sorted....
Not good news for the girls, the shops and the punters....

And another problem is that due to COVID-19 and physical spacing a lot of Immigration Department staff are working from home. My hairdresser applied for business sponsored visa and part of that process is an interview which was done online and the Immigration Officer admitted to her during the interview that due to the COVID regulations there is now a 4-6 week delay on visa's to be processed. So if that's the case some of these girls will be off the books for at least a month.

Or longer I suspect. Might be a real spike in the sugar daddy market!!!

Anyone see first hand the police visa check on AMP’s today?
Apparently 15-20 shops raided and some people taken into custody.
If true......Just seeing if your favourite masseuse is still around or doing extra shifts.
reassuring to see the constabulary is taking RnT quality control seriously

Interestingly, I notice Yokine Tina has not updated her ads since 18/2.

Wonder if any connection or just co-incidence? Not likely to ring, don’t know who may be controlling the phone !👎🏽🤬

Perhaps just being paranoid🤔🤯

Have heard that ATO might check on Casino. People have been washing their cash through there. It could be very interesting to see the outcome. Knowing if you go to Shisha shops, have to pay cash only. Where the cash goes? Cash - Casino - Bank - BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Rolls-Royce ... houses ... gold ... :)

Casino has always been a place to launder cash - before and after the Federal Government imposed a $5000 maximum on each individual cash transactions (over $5000 has to be reported to AUSTRAC). So as long as you are only exchanging $4999.99 cash for chips at the cashier desk, you by rights are within the law.

How about the cash out? Can deposit to the bank without paying tax?

Yes as long as you are depositing less than $5000 at a time. Banks have to report large cash deposits too as per AUSTRAC rules. Westpac was in the news quite recently for ignoring these rules and letting people deposit large amounts of cash without reporting it to the financial regulator.

I think you will have problems at the end of the financial year if you do a lot of $4999 deposits over the year. All accounts are linked to a tax file number and multiple deposits like that will set off red flags at the tax department. Especially if you don't have a good reason to be getting tax free cash.

I'm a new customer, what do I need to provide to apply for an account? (commbank.com.au)

Not giving a TFN when opening a bank account is not illegal and you only have to pay tax on any interest earned above a certain threshold which the bank will deduct. Considering the interest on a savings account is around 0.05% you are not going to miss a little deduction here and there.

Investigating superintendent to constable...

"Did you warn him?"

"Yeah Super"

"But he shot first?"

"Yeah Super. Then I tasered him..."
