Salutations all. I only a few months or so purchased a copy - unopened and in pristine condition from Ebay, for $18.00 Aud, including postage. An interesting film to say the least, tho not "raunchy" enough for me, but nevertheless one to add to my collection.

The reason "The Story of O" is no longer in the video stores is because of the rating change from "X" to "R" (violence to women). The 10 disc DVD set is available for about $40 from BPS Video Services in Willetton (9457 1617). I haven't yet bought a set, but will be doing so in the next month, or so. I spotted the titles at a shopping centre mall display. The same with the 'Emmanuelle' series, which I also class as classics. My only concern is how much has been cut from the originals. Censorship can be a pain
especially after seeing the uncut versions. Now, they would be worth getting hold of. I don't condone violence to women, seeing the erotic side to 'O', and only practise it with those willing, rather than those unwilling. (SSC) Many would class these as porn movies, but they can't make them faintly like it anymore. (except for maybe the French - pity about the subtitles)

Is this DVD the American remake or the original. If it is the original, is it in English, which is what Master is looking for. We have the French version with no sub titles unfortunatley.

Thought I would just update. Finally picked up a copy from BPS Video for $10. It is the normal uncut version in English (Also French and Spanish). The quality of the picture is similar to copying a VHS tape from an original. You just have to make sure your DVD can handle NTSC (usually it's BPAL for Australia but most DVD players will do either). They no longer do the 10 disc set (they can't even remember selling them). However they have episodes 4,5,7,8,9 & 10 available. They are more like 50 minute serials, no where near as good as the original 135 minute movie, but they are only $5 each. I can also recommend the original uncut Emanuelle at $10. Just phone first to make sure of availabilty.

Hello Darkerlady, The versions I have imported have been the full 'movie-length' unedited version in English... hence the higher price than the cheaper video store edited versions... SirStefan
