One of WA's best known criminal lawyers, Judith Fordham's extraordinary story is one of survival and
success. After enduring years of domestic abuse Judith had the courage to take her four young children
and start again.
"People say I'm brave for starting a new life with little kids but it’s not bravery at all - it's not having a
choice. You just do what you have to do. When you've got children, you don't have the luxury of falling

Judith was one of the first women in WA to run her own criminal practice, Fordhams. Judith is now a
barrister and is also involved in ground-breaking research at the University of Western Australia. Don’t miss
her story as she talks candidly about life, her challenging past and balancing work, life and family.
Women of the West was launched in October 2000 by a group of dynamic West Australian women
drawn together by a shared passion to help the children at Princess Margaret Hospital.

WOTW events are designed to facilitate social and networking opportunities in a relaxed and inclusive environment.
Proceeds from the Judith Fordham Breakfast will help us reach our desired target of $50,000 for 2006.
These funds will be used to purchase a heater/cooler system to be used during open heart surgery. The equipment helps
protect a patient's vital organs during surgery.
