When the DEP come for a friendly visit You have to tell them ever so politely to leave or they will make your life a misery

Totally agree johnlou, you must always stand up for yourself, because if you dont no one else will, thats a given from my experience in the wacky world we live in. Unfortunately it can work against you.. but then again the so called upper management may (I say may) respect that.;)

Define what you call bitchiness Linda..maybe being told how to do things the right way, some take personally. A good learner is one that can take on board what is required, and if in doubt will ask questions so they get it right. In saying that a good teacher is one that will persevere until student has got it right completely. :smuggrin::smuggrin::smuggrin::smuggrin:

i wasn't refering to this job love, it was just about work hates in general i have had many jobs where it has happened it never ends well

It's ok Sue I can say it for you.. us clients can be a bunch of dickheads sometime LOL!!.. but I promise I'll try harder to be sweet and loving to your wonderful ladies in future.. and so should the other dickheads or I'll say unkind things about them behind their backs! :)

Well my work hate is discrimination and the workplace letting it happen. So in my last job working for local Government, I was head of IT and technology illiterate senior managers would get the female Engineers to do their typing because they didn't want to learn how their computers worked. Even though they were senior to me, I would tear strips off them, confiscate their computers and send them on remedial computer courses! I don't actually have a job any more.. funny about that .. but the staff in general were appreciative especially the female Engineers!

I think clients can be dickheads day or nite, so this might not be it. hahaha good speculation.

Anyway, you are right about upper management. I guess they think their job is to manage, by delegating rather than doing it themselves.

Very true! In my case instead of delegating their word processing to the Admin staff, they chose their own Engineers but only the female ones because apparently typing is womans work grr LOL! That's what got me annoyed :)

In one job....when people do as little as possible with no passion or pride in what they do and just spread misery for the sake of paying their mortgage. But in their cases it is usually rent.


In another job...... where there is a rediculous person in power that is not a leader and uses aggression as a crutch to get by..... they don't realise they are a foul disease that will spread and make their environment a living and permanent hell.....



In another job..... where individuals in positions of power are mentally lazy and are stuck in their ways of doing things during their prime times....and oblivious to how the world is exponentially changing...... then they continuously demonstrate insanity by doing the same thing and expecting a different result..

Hey I'm client and I'm not a dickhead..... Much should fix that hmmmm :p

But yeah my biggest think at work is clients funny enough when they come in acting like they can do your job better want things done in unreasonable times and act like their king of the world and all other work should be pushed aside for them, unfortunately for business reason I can't just tell them to turn around and bugger off but yeah. Really gets on my nerves:mad:. especially when you get customers who are really good and understanding and not pushy

It doesn't help when your manager knows squat about what your doing and behaves like a donkey. Working for a company that screws you from behind without the option of protection really f***s you daily.

Those were not me bosses, mr H2. They were colleagues, though one of them was the project manager, sort of my boss but he was more like a colleague. He was the best project manager I've met, down to earth and basically doesn't mind gettin his hands dirty. He led by example, I fully respect that. I've never seen a manager has such quality...

I agree Homer, there's nothing better than working for a good project manager that has both project management skills and people managements skills, and leads by example and has some empathy to the real life issues that happen along the way, and finally deal with it without getting stressed and taking it out on their team. I've had three like that, the others were crazy.

I agree....
Good leaders don't give orders they are jot willing to carry out themselves......and that does not mean once upon a time.... but carry out in the present once in a while and lead by example.


Also they don't back people into a corner as a main strategy for control. As if people would ever be bothered completing a whole conversation with such a joke if they weren't in charge.........

Just people that don't care.... either colleagues (quality of work) or clients that don't care about our gear and treat it rough.......

Part of the reason I am starting my own company and will set my standards / damage fees....

i hate bosses who only sees u do the bad or wrong things.
a good boss should also see the good things to give the workers confident and be happy at their work.
