Trying to avoid or escape them will just have them resist getting out of your existence.

and if the thoughts are about wanting to contact someone you know you probably shouldnt contact.. and would be better not doing so?

You just got to except that there is no point in fighting these thoughts, like everything else they will pass in time.

I put on headphones & play my ipod with my great music loud & I forget :singing::singing::singing:

Or else I will start stressing (& get a migraine................ )...so music it is!!!

Good question. Now where did HP put his rum bottle I need a drink while I think.

Take time out for yourself and try to relax. Just because something is on your mind as hard as it sounds try not o think about it constantly be patient and wait and see what happens. Occupy your mind with something else find something stimulate your mind. When your mind is stimulated you will find yourself subconsciously not thinking about whatever it is that is bothering you.

If you are blaming yourself for something don’t play the blame game. People often do that They think about past events and then in deeper thought start assigning blame for that event to some person or thing and usually that person is themselves.

Try not to fall into the thoughts of others Don’t try and think what someone else is thinking use your own thoughts and think logically not irrationally.

If whatever is on your mind makes you angry deal with the anger as anger will cloud judgment and rational thinking

If it involves another person don’t try and work them out because you won’t. You would not have a clue what is going through their mind the same as they would not have an inkling of an idea what is really going through your mind.

Deep thought can evoke emotions such as fear anxiety stress Try and concentrate on the facts as they are and not the false facts the mind subconsciously creates This will alleviate the stress and anxiety.

Always be true to yourself

The situation in question left me very low.. lower than ive ever been.. but because of distance and time.. i was starting to find my way back and find myself again..

However the person in question is now back and making contact.. wanting to at least be friends.. but my feelings for her have not changed..so i asked for some space to heal..

She thinks i dont need it and is finding it hard to stop contacting me.. she says she needs me.. needs to see me.. so it has me thinking about her again and the 'what ifs' ...

Yeah Thatguy I hear what you saying..... the body and mind greaves, it takes time to heal. Sadly it's a slow process finding the path that brings you back....but nothing hurts more than being disappointed by the person you thought would never hurt you.

However...her selfishness and complete disregard to how you feel, to suddenly appear BAM!!! she needs you......she needs to see you....she wants to be friends.....she can't stop contacting you....WTF ? Now she's got you thinking about her again.....and your asking yourself about the WHAT IFS....remember Thatguy it's not love that hurts, it's being hurt by someone you love.

This is the hardest part to deal with because with every lie there is a grain of truth, and with every true statement there is a lie. Remember the adage, "I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant." Overtime they will be caught in their own web of lies. Listen to you own inner voice, don't be their puppet. Think logically,
