This is what I find punters expect - in general.
Makeup - definitely full makeup, but classy and understated, and I have found lip gloss rather than lipstick. Doesen't stain their clothes, or get stuck in those unexplainable places.
Stockings and suspenders, or at least stay-ups. Matching g-string or panties (if you wear them) and matching bra. Or corset, they will tell you. Heels; boots or shoes, they will express a preference if they have one.
Mini-skirt or low cut top, or long satin dress with slits up the side.

I find the bare leg far more sexier...and yes stockings have there place but dont get why people think that all WL should wear stockings...i find it very old school (ouch I feel a slap in the back of the head....xx)

As long as you feel comfortable and confident in what your wearing then that should be all that matters, whether that be a leather g/string with chains on it and a pair of high heels or dressed to kill in a hot dress with not much under it.
I really like the leather look myself and have seen some hot little numbers on different ladies, something about leather that turns me on anyway. Also the G/String i am talking about is mainly leather with a thin chain around the ladies waste and a few small chains hanging down the front.

If they tell me they want bare legs, that's what they will get. However, my default is the suspenders, stockings, mini skirt and low cut top. The 1980's "vegas dress" is available on request, and, yes, it does get requested. Maybe it will be different when I get to Perth ...

Over here, when you work in the parlours, at least the more upmarket ones, stockings are mandatory. I tend to think that bare-legged girls are round everywhere, for free. Why would you pay for one? Wouldn't you want something more than what is running about the place at no cost? Especially with the Australian prices. That has been my experience anyway. I once turned up at an outcall with bare legs and high heels, and got told by the punter that he thought I would be wearing stockings and suspenders, so maybe that's why it is commonly thought that hookers wear them, the punters expect it.

Showering with the client shouldn't be for the purpose of grooming (unless you are very disorganised and running late.) It is then part of the booking. I personally prefer to spa together, too constricted with more than one in the shower.
