Does anyone know much about the microphones for recording vocals? I mean the ones with the little round screens in front of them that can be plugged into Mac Books.
I used to play around with microphones when I was a roadie/stagehand. I never bothered to learn anything because I was just a s##t kicker.
Used to the old testing, testing 1,2,3 and the odd death grunt or guttural scream... went down a treat at corporate functions.
Just buy a USB mic. Plugs straight into your mac. No interface required. About $150 for a decemt one. Look up Audio Technica ATR2500USBLink is broken,so has been taken down
That'll certainly work and be a bit cheaper. Any USB mic uses the sound card in your computer so you might want to check it's a kick arse sound card and that your Mac has plenty of RAM to process / convert the audio from analogue to digital ...be interested to read a bit more about how far USB mics have come along recently ..(lol incase you can't tell I'm ignorant with USB quality but I know the SM58+ interface will always produce consistent, reliable and very good quality recordings)Just buy a USB mic.
