Viagra - how long before action

My GP, after some discussions, recently gave me a Viagra sample to see if it could overcome my problems with premature droopage leading to very unsatisfactory endings in the bedroom.

I plan on using the little blue wonder on an upcoming date. The doc said I should pop the pill about an hour before it becomes fully effective, does anyone else have any experience/feedback?

How long can a guy in his 40s expect the effect to last, ie. should I pop it sooner rather than too late?

Any feedback on the forum or via PM appreciated.

I'd allow an hour. Lasts for several hours. Be warned - you can go very red in the face and get bloodshot/pink eyes (not such a problem in a dim room). I found half a pill was enough to start with.

Well, I'm a very big guy, 6'5" so I'll just use the whole pill. Only one shot at it, anyway. :)

I have only ever used half a pill....... mostly take it just as I go to bed and wake up like a stallion.... be it a small one.

Lots of luck and care.

To be honest, I don't think size is that important. The pill controls your hormones - but go for it - they work a treat!

And the results are in. We have a winner!

Popped the pill (gulped with water) at 11:30 for a 12:30 date.

Experienced some mild blue vision after about 25 minutes, but was relatively brief and the only side effect I could tell.

Erections came easily and lasted far longer than in other past similar circumstances.

Did not appear to impede orgasm. :)

Two thumbs (and one erection) up!

Only side effect I have noticed is a bit of tightening around my eyes. Vision is unaffected and I still need stimulation before "himself" will rise to the occasion. When he does he will hang in there until the job is finished so it is really just a handy way of winding back the clock. Half a pill is enough for a happy evening.

Now, if someone could make a pill to regrow my hair and get rid of a few wrinkles and aches and pains............

It can give in order of seriousness:
blue/green colour blindness
headaches
heart attacks
dependancy (as in, can no longer get erect without it)

Sounds like pharmacutical ekkies with some of the other side affects i have read on here. You can keep them both.
Also you always get spam mai in your spam box about buying them from some pharmacy really cheap in the U.S. DRUG PUSHERS.

Phew, that's a relief! I though there might be something serious in there.

I was born colour-blind, take medication twice a day to prevent chronic migraines, daily to control cholesterol and, you guessed it, .....

What about the generic versions?
I heard there is a version you take every day

You MUST see a doctor first for heart check. (ie don't buy online and self-medicate). My understanding is the main side effects to worry about are risk of heart attack, especially if you have high blood pressure - and risk of passing out if you have low blood pressure

Neither of which is a good look if you are on top of a WL at the time!!

Never needed to deal with it so I'm curious for people who have - does it require a prescription? If so, does the GP actually check that you need it or just run the tests to ensure it's not risky?

For those into natural herbal things.

Tribulus supplements are only now gaining popularity in the United States. For a long time this remedy was only seen in countries that heavily practice herbal medicine.
While it is most commonly known for its ability to correct certain male sexual problems, such as erectile dysfunction, tribulus can also be used enhance muscle growth. It is also known under several common names, such as cathead, caltrop and burra gokhara.
The tribulus supplement is derived from a weed-like, flowering plant, Tribulus terrestris, which originates out of a diverse range of tropical climates. It is predominately from Asia; however, it can also be found growing in Europe, Australia and Africa. The plant produces small, sharply pointed seeds when the fruit finally falls open. These seeds are then used to formulate the herbal supplement.

Agreed, I discussed this at length with my GP, and he knew my medical history. My heart is in good shape, my blood pressure used to be high, but is now well controlled with medication.

I also didn't take this lightly, but I am in the low risk category.

We discussed my history in regards to ED, and what I am trying to overcome, plus my medical status. I never took the side effects possibility lightly, but I wanted to at least know if something like Viagra could overcome my problem. Now that I know that it does, I will work on other parts of me to improve them (mostly my weight) so that it works even better and I get and give more pleasure out of it.

Yes, you do need a prescription to get them. (which is why the fake merchants online make such a roaring business)

Can only go from personal experience, but the GP will obviously ask what the problem is (ie can't get it up/keep it up etc). Check that it is something that can be helped with Viagra (or similar) and not due to other causes (eg prostate, damaged blood vessels etc). Check your heart history and blood pressure. Then explain the options. My GP gave me a couple of samples to try and a prescription (no repeat) for the one he thought would be best.

30 minutes for me.... both for either generic Sildenafil (Viagra) or generic Tadalafil (Cialis). Myself I find that Tadalafil has fewer side effects.... Viagra for me gets me a little warm, no blue vision or anything like that though. Also I like that that Tada lasts 3 days. :violent5: I take half a pill of Viagra when using that... same for Cialis.

:)

How do they check these?

I see my GP fairly regularly for other reasons so he knows my medical history pretty well. Sounds like you haven't seen one for a while? Mostly it would be Q&A. Prostate is usually a blood test these days (to start with!).

And then maybe a quick physical check to make sure the old fella is normal looking (not bent or damaged), you have a good pulse in your groin etc...

THREE DAYS? So you gotta be careful that you don't get on a train during rush hour, because contact might set it off? :)
