I like a circumcised penis, but in saying that, it is a difficult decision to make as a parent. Nowadays everyone seems to be against the surgery unless for medical or religious reasons. I would never think of genital mutilation on a girl baby and think the practice is abhorrent. Does this make me a hypocrite?

I've got to agree with you there. In this day and age why do people still think it's okay to perform what was originally a religiously mandated, and nowadays medically entirely unnecessary operation on their newborn children's genitals? And as for personal preference, a la natural does it for me.

This is one of those questions where everyone has got an opinion. Where I grew up circumcision was purely a belief system among different groups of people, to some it meant becoming a man, to some it was religious or had some tribal connotations of one kind or the other. Then there were some who believed that it was hygienic and to some extend could repel some simple opportunistic infections.The hygiene part does have some merit but surely you can teach your little boy how to wash himself. I also suspect that those ladies who say they prefer cut cocks probably came from societies that had more circumcised man and so they became used to that as being the norm. I am not cut, my foreskin is fully retracted and from the age of about 14 has always stayed retracted so I actually look like I am cut. As for parents I think one of the posters above summed it up very well. Those parents just want their child's genitals to look like them, which is rather weird and selfish I think. It's a primitive practice it belongs to the bygone ages.

Is hygiene in the future a valid concern do you think?
I had my genitals "mutilated" when I was a baby and I have no recollection whatsoever. It has not affected me negatively at all in over 25 years. My parents are a little religious but I'm not.. I think its given me a better looking cock thats very hygenic. Every girl I've been with has said she prefers circumsized.
