The worst week,

L

Locoman

I have been following your posts and find it hard to believe the way you can function on no sleep.
I work nightshift and sometimes do not get enough sleep but do eventually get a really good nights sleep to recharge.
I do not know the answer but wish you well.

What a shite week. i hope i don't have to go through one like this for a long time. Id say never but we all know how life can be and i never say never,

Will I get away with this? maybe so...

I can do a reiki or swedish session to calm the mind and body. :)

OK - how about this for a crazy idea. Pack your bags and head up north. I have a big house. You will have your own room and bathroom. And you can chill.
There is not much to do up here so you will have to do a lot of chillin.
One thing I will assure you and that is that things are EXTREMELY laid back up here and you will certainly not be stressed.

Hey this is a genuine offer - no strings attached. I am being really serious about this.

Very impressive - 3 degrees, pilots licence, speak 5 languages and read a900 page plus book a day, in roughly 4 hrs.

For what it is worth - here is my suggestion. GET PHYSICAL!!

What I mean is, go down to the gym every day and have a good workout, get onto a bicycle and go riding, go for a run/walk everyday, go swimming, yoga, anything - just get out there and do it!!!!!

Great for the body and great for the mind and if you do enough exercise everyday, you will get a natural high.

Just bring your teddy along as distraction...:panda:

So can I call you the "Oracle", since your knowledge has surpassed mine by several frontal lobes. :)

you can call me whatever you like homey, but whether or not i come when you call is a totally different thing. i have issues even answering my phone when family or friends call. if its work or some such no problem but usually they want something as its the only time they call so i just look at it and carry on! hehe

as long as the gap between the haves and have nots continues is mega growth their wont be one. There arent enough people who will actually do something instead of complain about it, i tried and it was like bangin my head into the pavement.

HI Winter - firstly you can't shatter a nerve - there is no such thing as shattered carpal nerves. You can shatter the carpal bone and thus impinge the nerve .For relief if you have not gone down the surgery path consult a sports medicine doc or a rheumatoid specialist. Braces for support are helpful but should not be work long term as the long term muscle wastage becomes an issue as well. I have a Bch of Applied Sc in biomechanics ( human) so there are strengthening exercises you can do, by strengthening the general muscles around you can provide support naturally and also as Zues said, exercises ARE the best thing all round for the body and they are def needed for rehab .Start slow as with anything and build up - the adage tho use it or lose it is very true and inactivity is NOT the friend of injury ever.
As to your plantar fibroma if they are painful as you have mentioned and dont get relief from insoles then your GP would suggest surgery. That is the norm with this. Painful fibromas may be treated with an off-loading insole or pad initially however this is not done long term. Surgery is done for symptomatic fibromas when assistive treatment fails to give adequate pain relief.
The recurrence rate is low. Usually its a genetic thing that causes them however as I mentioned surgery does remove and is relatively risk free - no surgery of course is totally risk free lol. No one has to suffer with the above things and if you have had them long term as in both conditions I would be changing your GP as clearly normal protocols are not being followed.
Exercise is not just good for the mind and soul - it is even better for the body!! If you would like more info on rehab etc, feel free to PM me Im happy to recommend a few good GPs and also pass on some mobility exercises that WILL help :):D

i am on the waiting list for surgery and i have a plastics next month so hopefully i will at least have a date for surgery. I have just had cortisone injections in the left wrist go for the right tomorrow and had it in my shoulder friday. . the fibromas in my feet had cortisone to but they are to big really so its always painful to stand for to long and finding shoes that dont hurt to wear is a mission. Flats are the worse for some reason. it doesnt bother me to much i have a high tolerence for pain but seeing as i doing game design and 90 of my work is on computer im using my hands at least 15hrs just for that and when that pain hits at times i just punch the brick wall :).

@Winter W,

My thoughts with you and your struggles at the moment. Take my suggestions below for what they are worth based from my experience.

1. Get one of these immediately (that goes for all daily comp users here in this forum)

vm4RW-hi.jpg

Seriously. Don't even think about oh what my colleagues going to think of me. Sooner or later they'll be getting one too.

I'm in the creative industry for as long as I remember doing unpaid shitty 100's pages of annual reports overtime days and nights (though lost my main job since Dec'14 and surviving on just $50 a week on food and freelancing) and been using it throughout my career everyday.

DO NOT I repeat buy anywhere from Australia, Ordered mine from the US and saved around $80 last year (wireless version). Just slower shipping time that's the problem.

Save your wrist before it's too late.

And 2 - Consider & research about LDN (Low Dose Naltrexone)

Now I understand that you are about to go to a surgery but the reason why I suggest the above is I suspect you may be indeed running out of capacity for replenishing endorphins to withstand your pain, and thus this could be another source of help.

Your standard GP may or may not be able to prescribe these. But PM me and I'll let you know which rheumatoid specialist who was willing to prescribe LDN to me (as I wholeheartedly oppose Lyrica® - I refused taking because of long list of side effects). http://www.askapatient.com/viewrating.asp?drug=21723&name=LYRICA

Nonetheless, I'd ask for a rheumatoid specialist to examine your MRIs and CT scans and have him / her determine whether LDN is right for you, DO BRING IT UP DURING QUESTION TIME because otherwise they'll always lead you to the "most" cheap / common to least common methods - Lyrica for pain relief or cortisone injections as last resort. Try to get as much information and all possible COAs out of one single session from your specialist.

From my experience of trying to diagnose my (chronic) upper back pain almost everyday from early to mid last year: I was on LDN only for a short while (about a week and half, then stop, then sporadically for three months, then completely stop taking it) and while it may or may not work for you (our recognition/reception of pain is different to everyone else's) - I still would say resistance training (not just light toning, but think strength & short burst/s cardios) combined with sensible diet (I've been adopting both Keto, and Hypoglycemic-backloading principles) - I guarantee will offer you a real change long term.

What you need to know however is that 1 - Australia is severely and stupidly behind the fields of medicine availability. Therefore 2 - you will need to go to a compounding chemist once you've prescribed LDN, not any ordinary chemist. Don't worry there's at least two or three surrounding the city suburbs.

And lastly, considering that you may have (multiple) cases of pains - you may unfortunately consider a long time frame needed to recover. I'd say took me at least four months in my case before I am convinced to never touch my LDN (I still got suprisingly 60 or 70 tabs out of 100 left and it already expired) but it certainly helped me after adjusting to it. Last time I touched LDN was back around October and that was it.

PM me if you wish to know more. This is written by someone who has had (close) diagnosis for contracting genetic AS (Ankylosing Spondilitis / 1 in every 10 gene-predisposed carrier against all young adults population).

hth.

PS. Wow you're a game developer? When I grew up I wished I could level design, if were at all possible.
