His role will be exactly the same as Queen Elizabeth II. As the Head of State of the Commonwealth of Australia, he does have the power to dismiss and even behead anyone within the realm. It is very unlikely he will use this power. But don't forget that Gough Whitlam was dismissed.

As John Smith rightly states Queensland was named after Queen Victoria in 1859. There has been four Kings on the throne before the late Queen Elizabeth II was, so there has been ample time and opportunity to rename it long before now.

Australia is a British colony headed by a ruling monarch. The first king to reign over Australia was George 3. Only had two Queens (Victoria and Elizabeth 2) and the rest were Kings.

Britain has had 60+ monarchs over 1000 years, only 8 have been Queens.

While traveling India for my conquest for enlightenment I became aware that when a policeman steals your pen or you have a leaking pen it's a secret sighn of corrupt police used throughout the Commonwealth.
Charles not only had a leaky pen he also sighed the wrong date.
