The Big Gender Question

I read a post recently that strongly suggested that a newborn baby's sex is DECIDED upon by a midwife et al, when she sees the baby's genitals. ie. if the baby has a penis, it is a boy, if a vagina, then a girl.
Now this seem self evident to me and bleeding obvious to any sane person.
The reason this statement evoked a response in me was the way it suggested that biology was not the separating factor of male and female here, but rather it was at the whim of a midwife.

Now you can bang on about gender all you like. Personally I think it is all crap, (but I may be outnumbered by the number of Alphabet Rainbow People), but the sex of a baby cannot be questioned or decided upon by opinionated parents.

Personally I have a penis and I am a man. I don’t have a vagina so I am not a woman.

People have a right to decide to be something in between or jump genders.

But for fuck sake... leave kids to be kids and don’t give them ideas about gender fluidity.
