I don't know why people expose themselves like that on national TV. There doesn't seem to be any winners.

There just seems to be a need for fame No matter how fleeting
But when did this start I am 51 and as a generation I don't believe this need was all pervasive as it seems to have become now
Just look at videos of viscous schoolyard fights instantly uploaded for the world to see

Very few reality shows like that work out .... it must be hard being exposed all the time to the cameras...
It is a little like here at Langtrees....LOL :p:p:p

It's such a silly concept. My grandmother wanted me to go on one of these shows and I just couldn't get past the fact the guy is dating and usually becoming pretty physical with a bunch of other women. And I mean, you have no idea about who this guy is beforehand, he could be a complete Ass!! Lol

There's a bloke from Three Springs who was on Farmer wants a wife
Had to leave very early on because one of his parents was ill One of the contestants also left the show to be with him They have been married for a few years now
So you never know But then again if they had a camera following them 24/7 it may well have been different

That's a really lovely story! You are right, you never know how you can find love :) but I'm sure the cameras would've had an effect on them if they had both stayed.

That is a beautiful story .... and it was probably because they were not followed by cameras!

Amen Miss Paige.

It reminds me of something a church minister once said when I was at school at dating age.

"You need to understand everything about each other good and bad and accept it all. During dating you see each other at your best and under hopefully ideal circumstances. When you are married and you see each other every day warts and all that changes .........."

Maybe minus the big yachts and expensive cars Blake wasn't such a great catch and maybe Sam didn't look as hot before the stylists took a couple of hours to work their magic.

Besides that, most girls would kick a man to the kerb if he two-timed them while they were dating. How would four or more timing go??

I have stoically managed to resist watching trash (or 'reality') TV ever since Big Brother made it's ugly appearance but my understanding is there is almost invariably a large sum of $$$ awaiting the 'winners' at the end of these atrocities. Presumably this may have been the case here too?

I watched a couple of the shows and gave it up as a bad habit. What struck me was how the guy is carrying on with more than one woman at the same time, the girls are desperate for his attention, he was in love with more than one. Surely if it is true love, you only want one person? Well, that is what I would have thought. How does true love develop from a reality show with cameras constantly on you? Naahh I don`t think so!

Good point, though I guess that was more of a fly-on-the-wall documentary of how bogans lived on the Gold Coast, if I recall the promos correctly (never watched it, of course), rather than one of these more recent competitive shows with a beckoning pot of gold at the end. But yes, that was supposed to be 'reality' too. All crap though IMHO.

hell no its known fact women get competitive. someone with 4girls after him will quickly have the rest after them too.
saw it at school all the time. the decent guys come last while the ones treating girls like crap playthings to be discarded at will had an ever increasing line up of girls waiting to be two timed and cheated on

Yer I've started believing that anyone one, on any of those shows, where the career is stated publicly, if the career is titled 'Entrepeneur' means entertainment industry. Who doesn't want to be an entrepeneur own lots of businesses, but you need cash for that & unless yr growing a money tree or have a network of family and friends who pay you for every idea you have, where else you gonna get the cash. Philathrapists have money to give but there are more Entreneneures out there, living the normal rate of pay with the extra cash flow coming from their extra cirricular activities. The tv producers must have a clue, hope they have good counsellors for the victims, as for the victims...did they think money & publicity could buy them love. I love entertainment & media, it has so many levels.

Well the shooting of the finale was few months back...IMO the problem with finding love on a reality based tv show is not so much that you can't find love but you need to see whether it can be maintained after all the glitz n glamour has gone. It's like a surreal environment and the dates they go on heightened this and you get lost in the fantasy. It's no different to a whirlwind holiday romance

I think that's exactly right, under different circumstances and minus the expensive dates the shine would have worn off pretty quickly.

I'm sick of reality TV. Our screens have been flooded with it for the past few years and its just so predictable now. Bring back some comedy shows like Seinfeld or friends. At least you can sit down for a good laugh with these types of shows !

It appears you can make a reality show for a fraction of the price of a drama or comedy And while reality gets a big enough audience It will be here for a while yet alas
