I recently had my 50,000km checkup, with full blood tests, etc. and my doctor noticed that my testosterone levels seem to be somewhat low. Now, since I am unaware if any of my previous GPs have ever checked that in blood tests in the past (last full "warranty" check was over 7 years ago) I'm not sure if these levels are unusual or have been like that for a while.

I'm getting some follow-up tests done to try and work out the exact issue, but in the meantime, does anyone have any suggestions what to do to increase levels? I haven't felt particularly more feminine than in the past, I'm still as randy and horny as ever.

The wife's first tonuge-in-cheek response was that maybe I was turning gay... Yeh, if I was a male lesbian, maybe. ;)

Testosterone - one for professionals I think. If your sex drive is fine and you or your wife haven't noticed a change in your mood generally there is it possible your testosterone levels are normal for you.

Oh, definitely going to follow it up with the GP, sex and masturbation are one of the few fun things left in life, not gonna give that up too quickly. And I'm not yet ready for a vagina transplant. ;) (I'd *NEVER* stop playing with myself...)

Research shows there is a strong correlation to age and weight affecting testosterone. Exercise and healthy eating lowering of junk food and alcohol consumption leads to higher testosterone. Many middle aged MMA fighters take testosterone on medical grounds.

Well, I had my follow-up blood test on Friday, which was a somewhat unusual procedure.

That particular blood test has to be done between 8 and 9am, and, when you arrive, you first have to lie down flat for about 15-20 minutes. I assume this is because testosterone fluctuates throughout the day, much like body temperature. As for the second part, is it to allow the testosterone to distribute evenly throughout the body? (I assume it's either slightly heavier or lighter than most blood.)

Hope to hear some results this coming week.

I know as we get older our metabolism slows down and Testosterone decreses but will doctors prescribe Testosterone to bring it back as close as possible as to when we were aged 21. I know body builders use it and it can be dangerous but they are sometimes taking 100 to 300 times higher than a normal healthy level I am just talking about a normal level for a healthy 21 year old.

Don't forget that Testosterone is fuel for prostate cancer, in fact one treatment regime involves using eostrogen and even castration to control it. Having a willing willy may come at a very high price it it opens the door for the "big C".

Thanks for the info I did not know that.
