How do you stop yourself taking things for granted?

You know you shouldn't and also you know when you lose something you may regret it. But how do you control yourself to not take things for granted. Could be money or love, or anything in between

you right asianguy We take things for granted
Often , I think the small things I did not realise until my better half passed , how much I would miss the good morning kiss or come in from a day of harvesting and find a glass of ice water by my favorite chair and a minute later a stubbie of my fave beverage

But to walk in that first time and out of sheer habit go straight to my chair and no glass of water it really hits you As silly as it sounds

Yes AG. One of my my recent discoveries is that I took a lot of wonderful girls that were very good to me for granted.

Then one day I met what could have the most complete love of my life. But by the time I met her we only had eleven days before she left and we may never see each other again.

That taught me to never take a woman for granted again when she is good to me. And treat everyday with a woman like that as though it was the last day I will ever see her.

I hurt me very deep and I miss her like crazy. But it was a lesson I had to learn and my life is better for it. The thread I wrote about that is pasted below.

I've been fortunate (perhaps unfortunate) to have experienced things during my travels that to this day the mere thought of them continues to reinforce how great my life is. These days i take nothing or no one for granted.

If i'm feeling down, i think back to certain events and realise that life is still good

I took my life for granted up until a couple of years ago. My wife, job, house, possessions investments then I lost them all, so I try not to take anything for granted any more. There's a fine line between having everything and having nothing.

So true........a few years ago I was in a very similar position.........not a relation ship problem but the consequences of a very bad business decision....and from one day to the other I faced several thousands of dollars debts and nothing to my name than the few things in my room.
Now my motto comes very much down to a simple thing.......I don't take anything for granted. It can change from one day to another. But enjoy it while you can afford it but never lose the ability to cut back if you have to........you never know what might hit you.

Gratitude for what is present is the only way to create an abundance of what we desire.

In relation to this forum, appreciating the girls that are currently working, inevitably they move on and you never see them again, I often forget to really sit back and smell the roses of the beauties that let you spend time with them.

No the ones I was closest to never moved on. And that is not always ideal.
