Let's have some fun!!

Share your superstitions and if you think you have ever been proven right!!!

Oh and please don't be negative :) everyone is different!

Now I guess I'll go first; I believe in ghosts. Not your Casper type ghosts. But your spirits hiding in the background, tormented by unfinished business or unable to let go of the past. I believed there was a young girl in the house I grew up in. My door would open and close for no apparent reason and I just had this unwavering feeling of being watched when I would spend time alone in my bedroom. I think she was lonely.

You're turn! ;)

What ever I used to label as superstitions has since been proven real and I just accept as part of reality.

Not exactly Homer.

According to Buddhists Nirvana means the end of the cycle of incarnation and reincarnation at which point you are one with the universe.

For myself I prefer the Taoist take which dispenses with the idea of a soul altogether and basically holds that all matter and energy are manifestations of energy. On death the individual ceases to exist but their life-force is reabsorbed into the universal pool of energy. Maybe Rasmey could explain that a bit better?

I believe that the religious concept of an afterlife is a furphy put about by various priests as a means of influencing people and also of reassuring those who cannot or will not face the inevitability and finality of death.

I believe in energy...I don't like putting definite labels on things. Energy created by present time and past is obvious- but with logic in mind, future energy would have to play its part as well.

I don't know if I would say I believe in fate- an already mapped out universal plan. Or the individual's experience as a result of choice. There are many paths, many choices available which in a sense can feel a lot like fate when it all clicks in.

To be honest I'm too lazy to make too many grand accusations at the universe. Being present in the moment is the most ideal I get. I try not to think to much about what I can't see, feel, hear or sense and just focus on what I can. I'm a bit "primal" minded.

This three part documentary has liberated my idea of religion in the areas of Christianity, Islam and Hebrew . I have a respect for history and historical evidence, however, I don't agree with some of the extremely atheist accusations portrayed, as some parts of religion are good and others bad. all three parts should be watched this is only the

I believe in the power of the mind. People walking into the doctor's feeling fine except for maybe a slight cough, told they have cancer and they're gone two weeks later. People being told they have 6months left but hanging on for certain family events like seeing a grandchild. Apart from medical cases you have hypnotism, suggestions followed by the power of the mind - you can't hypnotise an unwilling person. People who can stop smoking a pack a day of cigarettes cold turkey. I imagine meditation would be something to strengthen the mind-body connection, subsequently the willpower an individual has.

I believe if you don't get your ass of couch than YOU WILL NEVER ACHIEVE ANYTHING! Eat less, move more, travel, study hard, work, meditate, exercise, and NO DRUGS. And better without alcohol.

Love it! Average Joe people who expect things handed to them or feel put out when the silver platter doesn't swing their way are in for a disappointing time. "Good things come to those who go out and fucking earn it" lol. Those people who do get everything handed to them (those from rich families/talentless Beibers with lobotomised fans/etc) I pretty much disregard as I see them as utterly unfulfilling lives. How do you grow as a person without challenges?

I'm average, happy with my averageness but I don't expect things handed to me or expect something for nothing.

I Think Mr Beiber could be trying a little harder though.

To become one with the universe you need to trace the steps of Buddha. Endure the pain and sufferings and meditate. Be with nature. Become one with the environment. Be as pure as the water, be as light as the wind. There's a Buddha in all of us.
