(This is a manual repost; thanks to the backup copy I've made before the forum crash)
With any so called aphrodisiac's - if you have
never ever tried them in your entire lifetime, then yes it would work to a degree that your body responds to it as
something 'new'. Whether that 'new' response is beneficial to the point where you
can notice it OR
not is really difficult to tell. Simply because it relies upon so many things. From my experience with all supplementations - taking libido enhancements and hippy herbal stuff is only "half the job".
So where does the rest of 50% goes? It's all about taking care on your other things. From my experience I believe the overall efficacy of all things hippy is really dependant on a number of things, but these three are pretty much what I consider the most important:
1. Your other systems (our libido doesn't just depend and act upon just the reproductive system by itself, the more you research about it the more it makes sense) - it is really a combination of how well kept your other systems are; being the cardiovascular/respiratory (obviously), nervous, digestive, and muscular/skeletal system (try performing a mish position with a cyst on the lower back - now that's not fun).
2. Your
genetic/somatotype profile and any conditions
on the thyroid - now for me being Asian with a sporadically (not always, a living proof that being an Ectomorph is never a constant state) high metabolism; this does affect the way hormones are being regulated or even exchanged with oestrogen. This is quite a complicated subject - but to put in simple terms, the more you try to boost either hormones in the hope for better libido - your body will always make attempt/s to revert back to its' previous 'default' balance.
3. NOW out of the three - this I believe is the most important -
your brain itself. If you are happy, as in you have all the healthy levels of the neurotransmitters (dopamine, serotonin, etc) then you should feel and consider yourself positive in all regards. The issue at hand is whether or not whether we are constantly 'enough' to be in this emotional state. Of course this is subjective to circumstances at hand. If you do decide to take the libido pills when you are all happy - then of course it'll work, unless the only other thing that's left is
placebo - but first if you are happy - then it doesn't matter. Again, this introduces so many variables that I won't go further
.
I'm not a doctor myself (hell don't anyone wish they're doctors themselves
??), but more rather a curious individual who's gone through lengths (many years) into (still) finding out ways on improving myself in general, and that yes - I do have a mild case of ED.
Hope this helps.
