Starting out in adult "massage"?

Hi, Im seriously considering trying to work in the industry, I really need the money after splitting from my husband and being left with most the debt, and two under 5's.
Ive tried finding a conventional job but there just isnt one that can fit in around the little one's. I don't smoke or do drugs, am fairly open and relaxed with sex, my latest b/f (who wanted me to split from the ex h) is very kinky so nothing really surprises me but I figure "hell I could get paid for this" and even though I haven't had heaps of sexual partners they certainly did vary and I wasn't attracted to all of them per'se, just horny and they were there. I can get a little self conscious but Im sure it wont take much to get over once I get the hang of it and if other staff etc are nice and bubbly.

What should I expect, what do employers look for, how does it all work, is it likely a client will recognize me in the street? Is the pay really that good? whats expected from clients? can you do odd days (whenever I get the time?) or does it have to be set times?

Im sure I have heaps more questions, I have been thinking about this for a looong time.

Can you have a normal life eg. the mum thing and still do this on the side, I need to make at least $200 a week to make our lives a bit more comfortable.

Real massage or straight out sex work?

Massage would require you to atleast goto TAFE and learn, unless you already know how.

If its only $200 a week, maybe you could try set yourself up on a webcam site? Some people seem to have good success with that.

Hi Bluebirdz

Are you planning to provide just an erotic massage service (rub and tug) or erotic massage with full service. Or will you decide to do escort?
As my experience is as a Courtesan, I will answer your questions thus.

"What does an employer look for" This I will leave for Maryanne

"Is it likely a client will recognize me in the street" Very occasionally you will cross paths with a client (I would recognize a client every 6 months or so). Some ladies will travel and work in another town. For example if you lived in Perth you may choose to work in Kalgoorlie, Bunbury, Busselton etc for one week per month. This reduces the chance of crossing paths with a client. However, whenever I have bumped into a client it is never awkward. There is always a mutual knowing smile and we both continue on our merry way.

"Is the pay really that good" Like any industry if you are good at what you do and enjoy what you do, you will be successful! However, I also know of WL's who still struggle financially because for whatever reason (pricing too high, poor service, nonprofessional, poorly presented) they really would be better off working in another profession.

"What's expected from clients" As I am not sure whether you plan to provide full service or just a massage service I will answer this broadly. Each client will have different requests and demands. However, they do expect you to be professional, well presented, polite, available, fun, sexy and discreet. If provide a genuine, sensual and erotic service you will do well in the industry.

"Can you do the odd day" It does help your regular clients to have set days and times. If you work in an establishment you will be required to work the days and times you are allocated. However, you do provide the establishment with your days and times of availability.

"Can you have a normal life" Well I certainly do. Having set days and times aids you to have a normal life.

"Feeling self conscious" Working really is a fantastic ego boost. Most of the men are very lovely respectful guys who will treat you well (Flowers, chocolates, perfume, clothes). Also, they say the most wonderful things. Little compliments will be whispered into ear whilst you are with them "You are so sexy, you are so beautiful".

Hope this helps. Good luck!
